For the price US$124 this hotel was quite good value considering where it is. I requested a driver to pick me up from the airport at 0200 and he was there waiting, this is recommended. It cost US$30 which is the same price as a cab. The room was a one bedroom unit, a little tired in decor but ok. A television in both lounge and bedroom. A bowl of fresh fruit and complimentary bottle of water was a nice touch.
A large breakfast buffet was inclusive of the price, numerous hot and cold items included. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and a late checkout was not an issue. Bab Al Yemen is about a 10 minute cab ride from this hotel.

It’s a nice hotel close to one of the main streets of Sana’a but not next to it. Rooms are looking ok with comfortable beds and new LCD-TVs. Bathrooms have all the amenities you would need. Breakfast was ok but it was too European for my taste. At some mornings there were no local bread and only French style breads and croissants etc. Hotel has also fitness center with sauna for free to use but it’s not advertised a lot, so you have to ask for it. Best part of the stay was the stuff of hotel. Everyone from door boy and security man to reception workers and room service were so friendly and really eager to please you.

Good enough if you don't have any high expectations. Its situated in a busy area close to the main street in Sana'a. I got a room first that smelled murky and got a new one. The hotel is a bit run-down and while we were there, they fogged the kitchen and restaurant! Only had breakfast once and it was a sad affair. If you're thinking security, this isn't first pick, as a car could actually drive right into the lobby and restaurant as the street is just 1 step away from its glass facade - but, its much less an obvious hit than the huge Movenpick situated above town!

What can be described as an average experience, hotel is under some renovation so restraunt facilities small and lacking.
Access to the hotel is along a very narrow street making arrival, departure an experience. Overall rooms acceptable, staff friendly and helpful.
Rooms clean with no view, no balcony. No kettle, but have hairblower, limited cable television.

Overall impression / Acceptable

The Mercure Hotel in Sanaa is an efficient, clean centrally located hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. All was in working order. Minbar was inexpensive (!) room service on time and if one kept the windows closed, it was also quite. The bathroom had all the amenities including a hair dryer. The breakfast/dining room lacked any charme and tables were pushed together for groups. Food was ok but lacked variety or taste. The staff was friendly, spoke English and was very helpful.
Taxis and ATM machines just around the corner.
