“Worth a visit, just for the views”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

I wouldn't highly recommend this to visit, unless you have a car, and you are already driving to the Marina Mall next door.
The village is a little touristy, and there is nothing really to buy, unless you want overpriced make in China rubbish.
You're better off going into Abu Dhabi city centre and finding a nice souvenir shop there. Or a Souk.
However, the views from the beach are remarkable and quite frankly are the best views in Abu Dhabi for the buildings and skyline.

“A bit disappointing”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This has so much potential but I don't think it's being we'll looked after, faded signs on the displays, a row of shops full of cheap, touristy things.
I did enjoy the dwellings and the craft demonstration but left me hungry for more.

this is a quietish outdoors place with animals, greenery, typical irrigation canals and a basic museum.

“An interesting insight into the origins of the city”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

There were a few fascinating elements to this site, in particular the original dwelling with the air conditioning system comprising flaps of material facing the four corners of the compass! I tried it out and it really worked.

It was also great to see water being raised by using a water buffalo and yoke linked to a pulley! An irrigation system had been set up to show how this primitive system worked in real life.

A good place to buy artefacts to remember the city.

“Great idea, but in need of some love and care!”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

having visited the Heritage Village 5 years ago, I was really disappointed to see how this lovely place had fallen into decay. Still buzzing with tourists, the different areas of this 'fake' Emirati village tell the story of what the country used to be like. Worth a visit, but avoid the toilets!
