We enjoyed the most wonderful end to our honeymoon at this hotel. We stayed for three nights in April 2014. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were welcoming and attentive. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

i love to visit shangrila every time i am in abudhabi, but since 2 visits i can see the service is becoming poor, especially check in process and room cleaning, the check in took time and i didn't get the room i requested, they gave me smoking and they didn't follow my special requirement in the room.
also i found hair under the bedsheets, the reception is not answering the calls and sometimes they take time.

We booked a suite for two nights including the club lounge. Room spacious and well appointed. 2 large usable balconies overlooking the water. Unfortunately maintenance had to visit 4 times to replace TV and a light fitting!
The club lounge was the highlight with superior service. We tried breakfast on last day in the main buffet, but whilst good, it was better in the club lounge. The staff in the lounge were fantastic, definitely well chosen.
The most disappointing thing was the almost continuous noise from jet-skis, obviously outside of the control of hotel.
Overall a most pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Club room access definitely worth it.

We decided to visit the Qaryat Al Beri for my wife's 30th. We're frequent travellers and are quite happy doing a 7 hour flight from the UK for a 3 night stay. We were in two minds on whether to stay here or the Shangri-La in Oman (I apologise here for the comparison) where we had an amazing time a few years back. I have to say the hotels share much of the same characteristics. The service is always excellent, as is the food. The French restaurant at Qaryat Al Beri was incredible, both for the cuisine and the view of the Grand Mosque opposite (so good we went back a second night!) and was our favourite restaurant, although the Chinese was also very good. We were also very impressed with the maître d’ at the Bord Eau who actually opened the onsite shop to buy us a couple of cuddly toys for our twins, after we were mentioning to him that they had stayed at home. That was a particularly nice touch. That said one thing we preferred about the Shangri-La Al Jissah (Oman) was that there was a complex directly underneath where there were a number of restaurants selling less expensive food if you wanted something less fancy.
Our only criticisms of the hotel were related to noise. We had paid for the Horizon Club upgrade (which we both considered worth the money), but this meant that the upgraded suite (which was plenty big enough for the two of us) was situated right next to the spot on the Friday night where there was a beach party. We were told this wouldn’t go on late. At around midnight we phoned down to the desk to complain about the noise and were told it would stop. Fair enough it did very shortly afterwards. We’re not sure if this was just us complaining or whether it was a coincidence, but the problem was resolved. There was also noise along the beach during the day from jet skis and private boats as others have noted, which would be enough for me to say that day times by the beach and pool aren’t always completely idyllic.
In all we enjoyed our short stay very much, but preferred our stay at the Al Jissah. I would have to say the quieter setting, a nicer pool and the better choice of eating establishments made the Oman Shangri-La our favourite of the two.

Room Tip: If you upgrade to Horizon Club make sure you don't get a room on the beach party side!

Our last two nights were spent here our daughter had booked this hotel which was a surprise for her Dads birthday, the hotel had organised a cake for him when we arrived in the room, a very nice touch, other nice touches were slippers and your bed turned down at night, the room was very large, beautiful bathroom, very comfy bed, lovely balcony, we did not have a view of the sea but the room was in a very quiet location. On the beach/pool towels were provided, sunglasses cleaned, cool box with water, fruit on sticks, fruit drinks, could not fault the service at this hotel, we enjoyed every minute.

What a gem in the heat. This hotel has the old world charm of the country. The views from the lobby and the rooms are wonderful. The staff couldn't be more helpful especially when not dressed right for a mosque visit.. The pool seemed plenty large with a great view at the end. The service around the pool was great. I liked the part where they cleaned my sun glass lens. The rooms were big and clean. Enjoyed the Horizon Club. The hostess who greeted you by name gave a nice touch. I've never had service like this . The Souk was nice to walk through and enjoy some shops. I enjoyed the free shuttle into town and to the Mosque. I din't realize there was a busy street outside.Booking excursions is easy a the hotel.t. It seemed like everyone loved working and were always smiling. They couldn't have been more caring to a customers need. Congratulations to Arbind Shrestha the GM, who is as friendly and the workers.

Room Tip: if you don't have a view and want one, just ask.

I have to agree with other comments about large comfortable bedrooms and friendly staff but I was very disappointed with other aspects of the hotel. Location - adjacent to a very busy road so there was the sound of traffic all day and night. Swimming pool - this was far too small for the size of the hotel which made it quite crowded and noisy at times. The 'beach' - this appears to be a man made beach on a canal which runs in front of the hotel, dozens of jet skies drive up and down the canal all afternoon making a tremendous noise and causing distribution.
I was expecting a nice relaxing break but it didn't quite work out this way. I wouldn't recommend this hotel because of the issues I experienced.
