My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary at The Emirates Palace and we had a fantastic time! I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to feel like a King or Queen.

The rooms are richly decorated with all amenities including a butler! They have a Gold Vending Machine in the lobby where you can buy gold bars based on the price of gold.

We had dinner in LeVendome which offers an international buffet with a variety of food. We also decided to spend New Years' Eve here too and were seated on the balcony overlooking the Corniche and the fireworks!

A must see if you visit Abu Dhabi! You can dine, stay and take a tour of the palace - all worth your time and money!

Having previously stayed at the burj al Arab and the Jumeirah beach resorts in Dubai our standards were set very high.

We wanted a summer holiday, with beach (1.3km private white sand beach), pools, lazy river, water shoots, kids club, and amazing service. Oh and we wanted the benefits of a two week holiday in eight nights. Emirates Palace delivered on all fronts.

I think because Abu dhabi is not as fashionable or as happening as Dubai you can get much better value for money for holidays here. If you've done Dubai, are all shopped out and just need chill out with great service then we totally recommend emirates palace. We'll certainly try to come back again. Abu Dhabi has its own sites and things to do but not the diversity of Dubai.. yet.

Firstly seven star... officially there are only five star hotels but some hotels are called seven star because of the amazing facilities they offer. the Burj al Arab is the other Seven star in UAE, the Burj will always be a bit special for me but the Emirates Palace, while different, is every bit a seven star in the same vein. The Emirates Palace makes the Burj look a bit like a boutique hotel all be it an extremely good one.

The palace (doesn't feel right to call it a hotel) is HUGE! Vegas hotel receptions i thought were big until i saw this reception - all marble and gold leaf, amazing. You'll also get fit just walking to breakfast and back every day. The hotel is very flat which is great for the mobility impaired, wheelchairs and prams can get around easily.
Regular/on demand shuttles run from one end of the palace to the other through the day across the beach front.

Some reviewers mentioned security being heavy handed - I found them incredibly professional and discreet. There but not there. One review mention them as like your personal protection team and I would echo that sentiment.

The people are one of the major assets of the palace, from Rosa our 'lady in red' (customer service champions) who went out of their way to help, to Ashley in the Restaurant (sadly left now), one of the pool boys who remembered us from a previous holiday in the Sheraton Dubai, the Bedouin who offer complimentary camel rides on the beach for children and adults and made us so welcome with Arabian tea and figs under a Bedouin tent, all our butlers, there were perhaps thirty team members we saw regularly and went out of their way to help us and make our visit special. And everyone knew our name, now either we're real trouble makers ;-) or they work hard to make you feel welcome, but staff members we didn't think we'd met before knew who we were. It was really nice to feel so welcomed.

Andrew

Room Tip: Probably worth paying a little more for a full or sea view and balcony. Suites are amazing.

This place is striking as you approach it, once you are inside you are continually impressed over and over and over again.
The dining experiences available are great and although slightly more expensive than some of the other resorts in the area they are actually not that expensive. The value you get for the quality and selection at the buffets is great.
Several exhibitions in the halls and lobbies are quite museum like. Plenty of luxury shops throughout.

One thing I will mention is that there is room for service to improve. by reception staff bell boys and in the dining.

For example while we were in Abu Dhabi we had numerous trips from the hotel to the other locations. Transportation was always readily available if we wanted to use the limo service provided from the hotel (at a charge) but if we wanted a regular taxi we would have to wait 45 minutes to an hour.

I must admit this was one of the amazing hotels in terms of royalty , wonderful guest service from the entrance to the housekeeping , even the front desk staff were very helpful, although the room did not have tea making amenities but the butler service was very good and efficient.
Slight upgrading of the bathroom facilities is required .
Only disappointment was at the breakfast buffet, where there was a long waiting Que, and the dining hall was very congested and chaotic, indeed need to have a bigger hall for so many guests to avoid all this inconvenience to all.
It always pays to review your bill before a final payment where Again on check out was charged a large amount for dinner almost 200$ in the hotel restaurant which I had not been to!
Special thanks to Mr Hussain who was the duty manager on check in who was very kind enough to upgrade me to a suite room.

Had booked room for wife and 2 kids. Advised all of this in advance, on the phone, by email. Asked for 2 beds. Was told on the phone "sure, no problem. Beds are big enough". Arrived at hotel with muted reception even though we told them in advance it was our wedding anniversary. Fine - don't expect a "song and dance" but surely a "we notice you're here on your anniversary" or "congratulations on your anniversary" is not too much? Perhaps it is.

Got to the room - beds are for children! No way there were queen or big enough for kids to share. Spoke to reservation, and some one else, and then some one else. Was told "beds are twin and that's what we can do. And that's what we told you/communicated. " Told them that their reservations did not state this even though I clearly told them our party.

They then offered "You can have a king. Or you can upgrade and pay the difference and have a rollout. Or you can pay for 2 rooms". Thanks...but no thanks.

Duty Manager called and said "on exceptional basis only we can put 2 rollouts in your room".

Too little too late.

Service from front desk was so clinical and regimented - we decided better not to stay. First impressions was so poor. Spent 2 hours wasted with all of this - especially for a special event.

Staff (butler, door man, porter, cleaning staff) were very polite and friendly and apologetic. But front desk - they are living in an ivory tower. They should learn from their other staff on service.

As have mentioned before - buildings can be replicated. Emirates Palace is a large and luxurious venue. But this can be replicated anywhere with enough money. But service-wise - Emirates Palace has a long long way to go. No wonder they have lost staff.

Decided to leave the hotel - called my concierge travel advisor who booked us at the Anantara Eastern Mangroves. Great, friendly and personalized service. What a stark contrast. Even kids said "we're much happier here". Read our review on that hotel.

A magnificent building with an astonishing beatiful garden. Easy access for everybody (as a visitor) even with your car, you have the option to drive in, without no charge.
Profesional service, spacious rooms and the most incredible is the main hall with a five story free height lobby.
Very interesting expeditions are taking place. Last winter was the development of Saadiyat island; therefore try for any news.
