Living in Dubai Marina I've been driving with my family every week to Vasa Vasa for the past six months. We've spent 7 years in Dubai trying to find a place in which our two kids could get the same gelato experience we'd got back home in a little village near Palermo in the late 70's. Last February we discovered Vasa Vasa and felt transported back to Sicily. The place looks like an italian artisan shop, nothing to show off, no colorants and artificial stuff in the ice cream, probably the only gelateria in the UAE that sells the ice cream from the steel buckets hidden in a marble table. - exactly like all the real ice-cream shops have been doing back home in Italy since ages-
It costs about the same as other styles of ice cream without beating in air and without taking any shortcuts. The result is by far the best gelato in the UAE, creamy, rich and at all not sugary like all the competitors in the market.
Our two kids attended a free ice-cream workshop there and felt very proud to tell us that a real ice cream has no secret to them anymore. Go there and try everything you can, the staff is nice and friendly and from the dark chocolate to the lemon sorbet there is nothing similar in the entire Country.
