Only 10 AED for general site entry, the festival runs for about 2 weeks usually from near the end of February to early March. We went twice, the first time to an evening session that was extra but fantastic. It was the Cavalia show created by the cirque de soleil co founder. It is a real Arabian treat and is hugely popular with the locals as well as the ex pats. I won't spoil it by telling you too much but it involves horses and acrobatics on an ever changing stage. We went back in the day time to visit the main site and the actual fort. It really puts into perspective the Abu Dhabi transformation of recent times. It is a shame it is only open once a year during this time period. The other stalls were fun too and some great shows took place involving traditional dancing etc. camel riding and my favourite was getting to climb a date palm tree using the traditional method. If you are in Abu Dhabi for the next one in 2015 definitely go along to it.
