The newly opened Amalfi is a true italian experience. Chef Pascal welcomes you with amazing warmth and guides you to his culinary designs, representing the best of Italian cuisine... with a taste!! Absolutely love his very simply burrata and caviar... and his pasta is out of this world. Absolutely recommended!!!! Alessandra

“Superb Italian”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Almost everything was perfect. The hotel refurbishment is very nice and brings it up to standard with the newer hotels. The lobby is modern and bright and makes a big impact!

In Amalfi the ambiance is created by low and original style lighting. Staff were lovely and welcoming and the setting is very stylish and relaxed. We ordered some wine whilst munching on soft bread and reviewing the menu. Slight issue, the waiter insisted on standing staring at us eagerly waiting to take our orders. A little space and time would be appreciated here.

Food was excellent. The highlights being the Caprese salad with a huge ball of super fresh mozzarella and the Wagu meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. The meatballs came with rosemary potatoes which were amazing crispy and fluffy slices of carb heaven. Shame the first batch were so over salted that my cheeks stuck together, I wonder if the chef even tasted them before serving. But I asked for a new batch and they came out perfect.

I think it is one of the best Italians in Abu Dhabi but we will need to return a few times just to be sure......

“Cosi Cosi”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

There are definitely better italian restaurants in the city than Amalfi at Le Royal Meridien.
Although the ambiance is super nice & the staff truly cares about every guest - the taste of the dishes simply does not reflect the delicious, tasty italian cuisine. Selection of Prosciutto, Salami, Mortadella & cheese is perfect - so is the quality. However, the main course (veal with aubergine tarte & tomato - chocolate sauce) was not tasty & tender at all. The chef wanted to please us with his home made Tiramisu, after he noticed that we sent back majority of the main course. Mi scusi Chef, but your Tiramisu was the worst one I've ever had. Jelly Coffee on top & crispy cookies - this is definitely NOT how a Tiramisu should be presented.
Anyway, Thank you Mary Ane & Catherine for serving us that night - we enjoyed the way you took care of us - always with a smile!

“..great italian across the road from me !!...”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

just opened but you don't notice the growing or learning pains. the staff appear to be well trained and ready for action. the restaurant manager, chef and waiters are wonderful. look for Abby Francis, a friendly and engaging gentleman from Kerala.
had a pizza of my own choice. chef guided me in selecting ingredients. all quality. loved it, superb dough base, cooked slightly crispy in a wood burning oven. mamma mia !
lovely and truly outstanding new interior. good intelligent design. cosy outdoor seating area - enjoy whilst you are able before the heat & humidity sets in.
I intend to make this one of my locals in addition to the Market on the other side of the building. another great eatery.
a good friend of mine did not recommend Amalfi. I totally disagree.

“After re-opening maybe the best Italian Restaurant in town”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

The Amalfi ist located on ground floor of the 'Le Royal Meridien Hotel' in Abu Dhabi. It was recentely re-opened after some months of renovation. Well, re-invention would be the better word for the enormous changes in concept and design of the Amalfi. The interior of the restaurant has totally changed to a modern and stylish design. The tables are not too close together which makes the Amalfi a good location for visits with business partners and some confidential talk.
The new Italian Chef and the new italian restaurant manager ensured that my visit was the best italian restaurant experience to date in Abu Dhabi. The wine list shows a good selection of wines from all italian wine regions and islands (yes, even my favorite region of Sardegna is on the list).
The staff was very attentive, service absolutely flawless.
For lovers of italian cuisine definitely recommended!
