“Not the experience that many others described .....”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Having read a number of the previous reviews (especially the recent ones over the Easter break), it was with some trepidation that our family of 5 - 3 adults, 2 children (age 5 & 7) headed to Yas Waterworld. Despite the tales of hour plus queues, we were to see how YW measured up against Wild Wadi and Aquaventure. We had the BOGOF Entertainer vouchers, which made the entrance fee affordable for the average family.

To give ourselves the best chance possible of making the most of our day, we were at the gate for 9.30am, with the park officially opening at 10am. This was by far the best decision that we made all day, allowing us to quickly purchase tickets, enter the park, and then head off to ride the rollercoaster (Bandit Bomber) twice and the six different snake themed tube rides (Slithers Slides) - all were enjoyed by all members of the family.

Next up - the 'family' raft ride (Dawwama). Here ensued our only negative experience of the day - over an hour wait. As we progressed (slowly) through the queue, we discovered that there we several problems - firstly one of the two slides at the top was down (unfortunate), secondly, management had decided to only use 3 rafts in total (despite requests from the lifeguards on duty for more) and thirdly (the rafts needed constant inflation (administered by the lifeguard at the top of the ride). That said the ride was fantastic for the adults in our party, but our kids found it a little too exhilarating, and they are usually thrill-seekers.

By now it was time for lunch (at Dana's Diner). It was your normal theme park fayre, but of a good quality and choice, if a little on the expensive side, even for the UAE.

Fed and watered, we took a more sedate afternoon, enjoying both lazy rivers, the mat slides (Sebag), the wave pool and the very varied and large kids play areas. One final ride on the coaster and time for home, shortly before park closing.

In conclusion, this was a fantastic day-out that exceeded our expectations.

Hi NCoathup,

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We completely agree with your decision to come to the park early, we have included this on our tips to follow when visiting the park. During the holidays we have experienced longer queues than usual and moreover on our more popular rides like Dawwama. We apologize for the disappointment with the ride being down, Dawwama is the first of its kind in the world and this status comes with some technical challenges. Dawwama is categorized as one of our adrenaline seeking rides and it does shock many thrill-seekers but it seems to us that Bandit Bomber came out on top for the family. We are happy to hear that you and the family had a fantastic day out and we hope to welcome you all back soon!

Best regards,

“Best water park in the GCC”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Yas water world is an excellent day out. Yes the queues are huge but it is a new attraction and the weather has been great. The dual passes to here and Ferarri World are great and save you 100 dirhams pp. There is a good mix of slides to suit all types of riders and the park is well laid out to avoid too much walking about. Get there early and ride the popular slides first!

“Comparable with Atlantis and Wild & Wadi”

Overall it's good, but costly for a rather small park. The queues can be monster so the use of premium passes helps, albeit at a higher cost

“Great rides, fun! Huge crowd, not fun!”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Went there yesterday. I gotta say the place is very huge! Too much stuff to play, but too little time because I arrived late (2pm) and the fact that it was weekend, only made it worse. The crowd was huge, and it took me 30 mins waiting in lines for 20 secs experiences. So if you are thinking of riding as much ride as possible be sure to go early or just go on weekdays.
On ticketing, one day pass is Dhs 235 for adults but there's a 2 days package (1 day for Yas Waterworld, another for Ferrari World -- to be used within 14 days) for only Dhs 360. That's a bargain. There's a premium pass for if you hate waiting in long lines, for a much higher price. I don't see the worth, but that might just be me.

Overall -- minus the lines -- it's a pleasant experience. Jiwa Loop (or something) is a MUST try.

Hi Putra,

Thank you for reviewing us. We are in complete agreement with you that coming early makes a difference. Due to the school holidays the queue lines do get busy, however the premium option is made available for Guests who want to wait for a shorter time. Liwa Loop is quite epic, glad that you enjoyed it! We hope that you will come visit us again and get to try all the rides out!
