Description: Scott’s is not just any seafood restaurant - it's the seafood restaurant - of London. For the first time in its 160 year history, Scott's is opening in a new location in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Offering the finest oysters, fish and crustacean, as well as seasonal game, meat and vegetarian dishes, the decor of this rare and exquisite escape is as dramatic as its location over water.

On our latest visit to Abu Dhabi we decided to try Scott's over in the ethiad towers and we certainly weren't disappointed. Both the food and the service were of a high standard and our waiter was attentive but not intrusive.
The restaurant has a modern feel with cream leather booth seating . It has cool blue lighting outside and looks out over the water. The terrace provides a welcome lovely light breeze after a day in the heat.
The lobster was exquisite as was the sea bass . Will definitely return next year !

We visited for dinner tonight around 2130. It wasn't very busy surprisingly with ten or so tables occupied. The service was relaxed but super efficient throughout. We ordered the roasted seafood platter for two and a couple of sides. They brought us an amuse bouche of a simply delicious pumpkin soup and then our platter. The seafood was beautifully cooked and delicious. We did notice there were no razor clams and mentioned this; the waitress apologised and said they were out but had compensated with more prawns and mussels. Then, five minutes later having heard they were our favourite, she brought a plate of razor clams having got some from another restaurant in the hotel - great service.

The chocolate and peanut fondant with honeycomb ice cream we shared was also fabulous.

We recently had dinner at Scott's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The restaurant has its own very stylish and modern beachside building at the Jumeriah Hotel in Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi. The Interior of the restaurant is spacious with a mixture of booths and loose chairs around ample sized tables. However, the atmosphere was cold and a little stilted for our taste. In fairness the restaurant was less than half full (on a Friday evening) so maybe with more diners there would be more of a buzz. The staff were very good, attentive and knowledgeable and smartly presented so no issue there. What let us down was the main event; the food. The menu at first glance appears to have a decent choice of courses, but on closer inspection we felt that what was on offer was boring. It was also disappointing to see meat on the menu of a seafood restaurant. My husband's starter of Monkfish cheeks was overcooked and the presentation very average. His Fish & Chips, which we expected to be outstanding being that Scott's is British, was totally uninspired. The fish was plonked on top of a serving of crushed peas with a side bowl of undercooked chips; we've had better at an Irish Pub. My food was somewhat better, Ceviche and then Dover Sole; both cooked perfectly but again, nothing inventive going on there. We did have magnificent Oysters though, a selection of French, Irish and Scottish; would go back just for those. We were given a small cake for desert for our anniversary so that was a nice touch. The total bill including a bottle of wine and two cocktails came to almost 1500 dhs and frankly I don't think what we had was worth that much money.

Thank you for dining at Scott’s. We’re happy that you enjoyed the service although we regret to hear that not all your dishes lived up to your expectations.
The reason we have meat on the menu is to provide a small alternative, as many guests come in groups where not everyone might be a big fan of seafood.

On our recent holiday to Abu Dhabi we stayed at Emirates Palace with my partner and heard about the jazz band on Fridays at Scott’s so as we both love seafood and jazz, I decided to take him for a few drinks to find out more about the restaurant and listen to the band.

On arrival we were greeted by a hostess and seated at the bar as the restaurant was rather busy, but we were only up to have a few drinks anyway.

The Jazz band was in full swing and atmosphere was incredible.

While we were listening to the music we observed two young chef (who we found out later, had just started recently) but we were not too sure about that, as they went about their work effortlessly. My partner, who is very curious by nature, and can sometimes be annoying too, went to the chefs. I must say I was surprised that they were very welcome to answer any question, although it was evident, that they were busy at work.

They were both very friendly, so my partner got talking to them.
He was rather impressed with the way in which the one chef was shucking the oysters to order.
We were curious about why one of them was not wearing gloves and the other chef was. So the oyster shucking chef explained that the other chef is preparing ready to eat food therefore he has to wear gloves, and at the same time he added that by shucking oyster shells he could wear, but would cut any gloves… :)
My partner was rather embarrassed as it made sense.
But we learned something again. :)

We ended up ordering 12 mixed oysters which were delicious, and enjoyed the Jazz band who we could see were so passionate about their music as the chefs were about what they were doing.

Even though the restaurant was rather busy, the manager and staff always enquired to see if we needed anything else.

Thanks for a perfect evening.
We couldn't have asked for more... :)

I've waited 12 months to visit this restaurant, but was so disappointed with the meal.

The starter Mahi - Mahi was a delicious meaty fish dish.

The main 'Fruits de Mer' (with Lobster) for two was most disappointing.
There was only one razor clam each; a small bowl of ready dressed crab, which consisted of a brown meat paste with some white meat shredded it, and one crab claw each.
The scallops were sliced thinly in a bowl.
There were king prawns; mussels and oysters.
The slavers consisted of other types of clams; two varieties to be exact, one of which was so gritty it was quite unedible.
The whelks, which when removed from the shell had grey (snot like) slime around them, which on asking were told they were OK.
The lobster was good as were the accompanying side dishes - home made mayonnaise; shallots in red wine vinegar etc. Which of course we would expect it to be.

We had to ask for the correct cutlery to enable us to eat this meal as a knife and fork are not approporiate, for this type of food. Despite having asked, we were only given a type of self assembled tooth pick for the whelks, and a small fork. (No lobster or crab picks/ hammers) as I would have expected as a standard from a similar establishment, despite the maitre d' stating that he had previously worked in a Michelin star restaurant.

At a total price of 650 dhs for this dish, I feel that the quality was most definitely not as expected, nor good value for money as we returned most of the dish uneaten. (whelks due to the slime from the shell; clams which were gritty etc)

Our comments were given to the waiter at the time of the meal, and written on the restaurant's feed back card.

During the remainder of the stay at the hotel, any comment from the restraunter was not been received, despite giving email details etc.

Thank you for dining at Scott’s. We’re happy that you loved the Mahi Mahi starter, although we regret to hear that the main “Fruits de Mer” dish was not satisfying.

Regarding the cutleries, we would like to point out that all seafood is previously cracked before serving and hence there is no actual need for additional picks or hammers.

Please rest assured that your comments have reached our management and should you wish to elaborate your dining experience more , please send an email to Simon.Rastrick@jumeirah.com
