The course advertise something like 65 bunkers. This does not do it justice. There is sand everywhere with some bunkers the entire length of some holes.
The Course is well laid out with some very challenging holes.
The club house has great changing facilities and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful.

Thank David M

We come here often, and while the golf course, and golf instructors, is great, the food is very uncertain, and sometimes quite poor, and the service is universally slow. I really make pains not to have a meal here. The menu is very limited, which in this case, isn't a drawback.

I have been a loyal patron of the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, or SBGC since its inaugural opening in 2010. I have probably played there 50 times in the last 3 years.

A course designed by the legendary Gary Player, Abu Dhabi badly needed some healthy competition with Abu Dhabi Golf Course as the only 18 hole green course in AD for a while. You are immediately awe-struck by the simple yet elegant architecture of the clubhouse the moment you drive into the club. The changing facilities, the pro shop and the restaurant (Hawksbill) are a dream setup for any golfer or visitor. The non golfing wives and kids can hang around the Hawksbill or by the lawn for coffee whilst waiting for the golfer to complete his 18 in the immaculately conditioned golf course.

What I like about the design of SBGC is its unique abundance of beautiful bunkers (and waste lands) and turquoise waters (some overlooking the gulf). Its always like playing golf in a beach garden.

The icing on the cake has to be its service staff - from the head pro (Paul Wilson, who has since left), to the director of operations (Paul Booth), to the PJ the other pro, to the course marshals and restaurant staff has always been perfect. I am not a member but feels more welcomed than a member back home. Every club can boost of the most number of awards and accolades but few can claim to deliver member's service everyday.

Ignore the fanfare and magazine talk. If you have only 4 hours in Abu Dhabi, take a drive down to Saadiyat for a special game. Contact me if you need someone to play with :)

We played 3 times on this course, it is in great condition and a tough challenge for high handicappers even off the forward tees.
I know its the desert but there are too many bunkers which means you are in a bunker almost every hole which just adds to the degree of difficulty.
Hire clubs good quality, food great, shop good, staff friendly.
When the wind blows its fun.
Prefer Yas Links and Abu Dhabi golf club.
