If you want a large room, choose the junior suite - you won't be disappointed. I have stayed here a couple of times and really appreciated the space. After a few days you will notice the subtle points like superior bathroom, large eye level safe, solid doors, etc - unlike many hotels there is no bar, no noise, just peace and quiet! (There are bars locally.) You feel the person who designed this place has actually stayed in a hotel!

I was attending a conference at the Beach Rotana and had stayed there before. I wanted something more central and less pricey and this hotel was perfect. I was there for five days and found the service to be outstanding and the breakfasts were excellent. The room was comfortable and the other amenities (pool, etc) were fine. I especially liked a free guest laundry as I was running low on socks and underwear and I was able to rejuvinate the lot while eating dinner. All in all, and excellent choice. The only drawback was that catching a cab to the other hotel for the conference was quite a challenge. In a city where seemingly half the vehicles are cabs, during the morning rush hour they are all full. I walked all three mornings--which was fine.

I visited the Al Maha for 4 nights in December, 2006. I have stayed at several other Rotana properties, but this was my first stay at one of the all-suite locations. As expected, the rooms were enormous with a kitchen, refrigerator, and washer/dryer. The suites did have a large, separate living room and a huge bathroom. The hotel has a very small gym and pool, which were marginally useful. The lobby is also quite small, and there is one restaurant in the hotel which I did not try. The location is central in Abu Dhabi, with most areas in easy reach of a cheap taxi ride (if you can get a taxi at the hotel, which is a problem). The hotel definitely feels more like a furnished apartment than a hotel, but is recommended for business travelers with longer stays in Abu Dhabi.

This hotel is ideally located in the city centre, with Abu Dhabi’s limited supply of shopping and entertainment close by.
But as a ‘suites’ hotel, it is aimed primarily at business travelers and lacks bars and restaurants.
The room was very comfortable, with a large bed, a small kitchen area, and a well equipped bathroom.
The hotel has a small cafe that serves up a variety of themed buffets, although it has little in the way of atmosphere.
There is a small but pleasant swimming pool and sunbeds on the roof, along with a limited but up to date gym.
If you don’t want to stay anywhere too expensive, this is a modern, comfortable and good value choice.

We've stayed there for 3 days. The room was clean and good in size. The pool is quite small ! Everything is fine except the restaurant service by the waitress was terrible. Will stay there again if they improve their service !
