Sheraton Khalidiya Hotel
Ranked #85 of 128 Hotels in Abu Dhabi

I lived there for a few days in a room on the 15th floor. Above I had a rooftop pool. Small, with cold water and a few chairs. The rooms themselves rather standard sizes, but with one small window (also leaking - a wind blowing). Thus, in a dark room. But the sight very attractive. Food is a big plus of this hotel - delicious, every day something new. Kitchen Arabic, Asian, Indian. Large selection. Nice location - close to everywhere on foot or by taxi. At the bottom of a large pub with a beer and strong alcohol. The hotel staff friendly, the pub staff very rude. But it's hard - it was not bad.

This hotel was recommended by the local colleagues for my stay during a business trip. For the business trip, it proved to be a good choice. However, having been to Abu Dhabi before, for purposes of a vacation, I would go with another property. While on the business trip, we had the service of the company car and taxis, but otherwise I would want to be in a location that were more conducive to walking (yes, I do realize it gets very hot in some seasons).

The hotel lobby was rather luxurious, though check-in is on a higher floor. The hotel restaurant serves a tremendous variety of offerings for breakfast. The room service breakfast was extraordinary with its variety of offerings, choices and quantity. While intended for just one person, it could have fed an army.
.
The service at the front desk was quick, welcoming and responsive. The room was like a room at US Sheraton, or Hilton, or Marriott, meaning dependably good, but not out of the ordinary. It was a very nice room, though. The bathroom was clean and rather upscale. There were slippers and bathrobes available in the room.

Overall, this was a nice hotel for business purposes, in particular.

This is a large hotel situated midway between the Corniche and the Khalidiya Mall. It is about a 10min stroll to either one.
Rooms are clean and quite comfortable, if not particularly modern or bright. Rooms don't really match up to the opulent reception areas. Entrance areas to each room obviously once contained kitchenettes, but these are no longer in existence, although the cupboards are still there as is some of the plumbing under the counters. Perhaps there are plans to develop these areas into something more practical and more appealing. Wifi is available in rooms, but I still don't understand why hotels have to charge such ridiculous rates for this service. In this day and age wifi should come as standard with each room. Housekeeping staff are cheerful however.
Sound proofing between rooms is not that great depending on how raucous your neighbours are and the corridors from the lifts are somewhat dark and dingy.
There is quite a wide choice for breakfast. Interestingly, the staff serving breakfast vary considerably in attitude & efficiency. Their productivity increased dramatically when a Manager was on hand to monitor activity. A special 'well done' should go to the chef behind the hot counter, who was enthusiastic, humorous and very professional each morning.
I'm not sure what to make of the reception staff. They were quite pleasant when you approached them, but they rarely looked up as you were passing and seemed to spend considerable time engrossed in the mobile phones.
All that said, this hotel is ok, if you need to stay in this particular area. I'm not sure that I would really want to rush back as I've stayed in better hotels in Abu Dhabi in the past.

Scruffy, small hotel, dark narrow corridors, only one restaurant, and the roof swimming pool is a joke! Recommended only if you want a bed for a night, nothing more! I couldn't believe it was a five star hotel!

Stayed here for a whole week to attend a business conderence in February 2010. Back then this hotel was a Sheraton and the review might not be up to date. I was given a relatively large, if somewhat bleak room, without a view, which I managed to change after a couple of days of asking, usind my gold spg card, for a much better one with a great view to the sea. Although the hotel entrance and lobby are spectacularly confusing and impractical and the staff seemed lost most of the time, I can't say that the hotel was below standard. I had a nice stay and have nothing to complain about. What was definitely below standard and thus took much away from the whole experience, was the city of Abu Dhabi. An artificial, unfriendly place, which doesn't quite manage to put you in a relaxed mode, despite the obvious effort. And beware of the manevolent taxi drivers!

Is a nice hotel, the rooms are nice, bigger than other hotels but with only one small window, means not natural light or not much even when my room was in higher floor.
The breakfast is nice, you can eat different things, for business is perfect because is not so fancy but has variety.
The service is really good except when someone is trying to reach you by phone 2 of 3 times the reception don't answer the pone.
Very good wi-fi and if you are connected through the network is very fast.
The beds are good, and the air conditioner is excellent, is an important thing here.

The only good thing about the hotel is the central location. It felt slightly worn and not as luxurious as it would have been a couple of years ago. Rooms don't have a view, but in compensation you could fit a small village in the bed!
