Great futuristic architecture, what they are doing re energy conservation is commendable and innovative. Some great food places in Caribou and Sumo

I only head to Masdar when I want to go to the Organic Life and Café for provisions. Getting into there is a time consuming pain, the parking is always full, then you have to take the pods over which all adds minutes to a quick trip for groceries.
Personally I think the architecture is ugly, there are beautiful eco friendly building around the world unfortunately this is not one of them.
It is basically a university with a couple of banks, aramax and the Organic Life and cafe

Interesting place, especially driverless cars taking you from the parking to the centre. Still not fully developed (new buildings under construction)

This is a fun little trip to take with kids, if only to ride from the car park to Masdar City in a driver-less pod car. It's interesting to stroll around and see the eco-friendly innovations, like the modern version of a wind tower. There's an okay Japanese restaurant, a Caribou Coffee and an Organic Food store with lots of hard to find (though pricey) health foods and beauty products, but other than that there's not much to see or do.

Have to say, I was slightly disappointed by Masdar City, with the term 'city' not really being applicable to this place as yet. The institute that currently resides on the site are expanding, and although this is a long term plan, as they are the only people on site, it seems like somewhat of a ghost town. The rapid transport vehicles only take you a short distance currently, however, if this can be retained as the 'city' expands, this will be truly remarkable. The staff who showed us around were knowledgeable and helpful, and those who are fortunate enough to obtain a place in the institute are lucky to be involved in such a landmark living experiment. Worth a visit, though don't expect anything like what is shown in the artists impresssions currently.
