The Central Souk is a well-designed mall that is nearing completion. It has a mix of heritage-style shops (Lebanese glassware, Kashmiri pashminas, spices and dates) and modern (opticians, photo shops, jewelry). It also has a mix of restaurants, of which Tarbouche is my favorite. The hummus with meat is outstanding, they have the best fatoush in town, and the bread is always fresh and good. I personally stick with the mezze as the kebabs and felafel are not better than elsewhere in my opinion. But it's a great place to visit as you can people-watch in the Central Souk while you eat, enjoy some regional cuisine with friendly service, and get out very full for not a lot of dirhams.
