The service was friendly and helpful. They were good with the kids, not making us feel unwanted despite being quite a 'smart' restaurant. The pizza was good, although with a bit too much cheese. The crusts were very nice and thin and crispy. A perfectly pleasant evening out.

This is a good restaurant. I was put off by the fact that many dishes in the menu contained alcohol ( not some, but most). Other than that:

The food was nice, but not amazing. The prices are a little on the high side relative to quality. I liked the buffalo mozzarella pizza, which was the best part of the meal. The risotto was good, if a little dry. The drinks were refreshing. All in all, a good choice if you're staying at the hotel.

Enjoy !

We had to dine in this restaurant as most of the other restaurants at the Yas Hotel were closed when we stayed there.

I'm glad to say that it is a pleasant surprise. I had the tiger prawns and it was great. They even brought out a slice of birthday cake for my friend who is celebrating her birthday that weekend.

The service in the beginning was rather slow as we have put aside our menus on the edge of the table which an obvious indication that we have looked through the menu and were ready to order. After the food was served, then the service level rocketed up to a point of annoyance.

We paid approximately $90 for two persons - two main courses and one dessert.

I ate at Amici restaurant for the first time in May with my partner. This was our second choice of restaurant at Yas Hotel as Nautilus, the seafood restaurant, did not have anything suitable for vegetarians. The décor is mainly glass with a large green glass chandelier near the main entrance. The balcony was closed to diners and this is open in the winter (not a problem for us).
We were disappointed as our choices from the menu were limited as we did not want any alcohol with our food. We had bread with pesto and olive spread. My partner chose the antipasti buffet which was excellent but the plate very small (cost 95 AED). He had beautifully-presented tiger prawns with mushroom for main course (cost 100 AED). My vegetarian meal started with a bean and pasta soup (35 AED) and was followed by a pizza (40 AED). I had requested the pizza had less cheese and more tomato than usual and this was done to perfection, evoking memories of pizza in Italy many years ago. Food quality was very good.
Two double espressos set us back 48 AED which was a bit dearer than we are used to paying. It was also served in normal size coffee cups. Why can’t restaurants serve coffee in the right sized cups these days?
Service was satisfactory but not quite right. It was a little difficult to get attention when we needed it (to place our order, to order the coffee and to get our bill), but had no shortage of staff unnecessarily leaning over us from time-to-time to fill our water glasses!
The total bill including a one litre bottle of sparkling water cost about 400 AED including taxies and tourism fees. We used an Entertainer voucher so saved about 50 AED, being our cheapest main course. It is a little dearer than similar restaurants we’ve been to recently in Abu Dhabi. I didn’t think the price was justified.
The large number of items containing alcohol also would put me off returning. It wasn’t a bad experience overall but in my opinion there are better Italian restaurants in Abu Dhabi than this.
