given that yas island is a top-notch tourist destination, the trick is to find a hotel that ISN'T 4 stars or better. thus far i've failed. the park inn is another winner.

the park inn features clean, spacious rooms, fantastic showers, an excellent breakfast buffet, and a most accommodating staff.

my only 'complaint' with this hotel is that the common areas are in need of redecoration, but that's just my opinion.

make sure to visit amerigos mexican bar and grill and have a basket or two of the world's best calamari.

Down for a weekend from Dubai to visit friends - Great hotel and really friendly staff. Walking distance from the F1 racetrack as well as the Ferrari World - so make sure this continuous noise doesnt get to you as its pretty loud! The pool and bar were great and they served the best Coconut Mojitos EVER! Definately recommended! We upgraded to a sea view room and balcony overlooking the golf course (for not even AED60) and it was gorgeous! Breakfast was good too and we would definately visit again!

We spent our second night on Yas Island here. I should beginning by saying that Yas Island is not an Island in the true sense of the Word but we loved it and didn't make it closer to Abu Dhabi than the Mosque! It is more like a small community of hotels in a horseshoe shape. Really nice and clean everywhere and only around Dhr 22 from the airport (make sure you get into a metered taxi and do not accept the Dhr 55 offer from the smooth talking guy/s that appear in front of you). There are, however, no shops/chemists/non-hotel restaurants in the area. The closest shopping centre would be ten minutes away by cab in the direction of Abu Dhabi. Didn't bother us, but just so you know. So, to the Park Inn for our second night as the Crowne Plaza was full. Had we not had the FW deal at Crowne Plaza (see separate review) and with two teenage boys in tow, the Park Inn was definitely the better choice. We booked a one bedroom suite and got one of the six on the end with a wrap-around balcony and views of the water, golf course, entrance to YI hotel complex and also the Viceroy (very pretty in the dark with its' ever-changing colours). It was absolutely fantastic and very good value for money with a large guest toilet, ample wardrobe space in the long corridor, a nice lounge with plenty of space for the extra bed we required, a bedroom with good-size bed and a big, fresh, modern bathroom with a big shower and a separate bath and still plenty of space! The bedroom and lounge had sliding doors onto the balcony. There was a tv in the bedroom and living room and a microwave in the living area. There was also a small fridge in the bedroom. Fresh fruit was waiting in the living room upon arrival. Free wifi access with a code worked fine. I could definitely have stayed longer! The PI has a pool but guests are welcome to use the beautiful lagoon pool at the Radisson right next door. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate and all staff were very friendly and super helpful. We dined in the outdoor part of the Mexican restaurant in the evening and can highly recommend it. The waitress was kind enough to point out about Happy Hour so we could order drinks in time! The PI is classified as three star but the service and room was definitely five star! They have taxis waiting outside and it was a 20 minute and very cheap ride to the Mosque, which should not be missed (please dress respectfully, even if possible to loan an abaya). Be sure to take one of their one hour guided tours with their knowledgeable and humorous guides, completely complimentary. The taxi driver was still there 90 minutes later when we came out, waving at us gladly and he drove us back again (he said on the way there that he could wait but I assumed he would have the meter ticking during the waiting time so I said it was kind of him but not necessary as we could easily get another one back, fearing we would get ripped off). So the whole taxi trip was incredibly cheap! The hotel advised that business was slow for the taxis (when I enquired if they thought a taxi would be interested in driving us 45 minutes on the motorway to Ibn Battuta Mall on the outskirts of Dubai/far end of the Metro line, knowing they would have to by law drive back empty, they said they would be happy for the business and it would cost ca Dhr160). It turned out to be true and the cost was spot on. It's actually quite easy to know how much a taxi will cost as it is based mainly on kms. travelled. So we never got to see Abu Dhabi itself but we have no regrets as YI was really relaxing. By the way, although just ten minutes' drive from the airport, there was no problem with noise.

Room Tip: Book a corner business suite if you are a family!

Stayed for 6 nights at beginning of April. Upgraded to a suite on arrival as we wanted an extra bed for our daughter who is 15.
Please note they do charge for rollaway beds and extra for breakfast if there are more than two of you in a room. We negotiated a good price for the upgrade and the suites are on the corner of the hotel with good views. Large bedroom with bathroom, a lounge with a separate toilet down the hall.
Never a problem getting sun beds, pool a little chilly, but not s problem. Pool bar good value and nice food. The Mexican is really nice and the fajitas are excellent.
We took the Yas express around the island, we also took the free bus to marina mall and a taxi back at 70aed.
If you do not like planes, beware this hotel is under the flight path!
Didn't bother me cos I work at an airport !
Reception staff very helpful and all staff we encountered were polite and smiled.
If the hotel was in town, I would stay there again, but for me there wasn't enough around in Yas island for us.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three days (2-4 April). We were in Abu Dhabi primarily to attend my nephew's wedding, but wanted to do a few other activities whilst there. What can I say other than we had a marvellous stay in this hotel. It’s easily accessible from the airport (15 mins) and downtown Abu Dhabi, very close to F1 Yas Marina circuit (which we walked to), Ferrari World, Water World and the links golf course. Other places of interest such as the Abu Dhabi mosque and the Falcon Hospital (fascinating) are a short taxi ride away (about 40 AED; £8). The taxi rank is right outside, with a plentiful supply of clean taxis (all metered, regulated by the authorities, with clear charges - the meters display and 'speak' in English so you know exactly what the fare is even if you're visually impaired). The Park Inn has a calm atmosphere about it (none of the bustle one gets with much larger hotels) so was very relaxing. The breakfast was excellent – delicious, varied buffet which really set us up for the day. The staff were wonderful - everyone we met was so polite, helpful and obliging, including reception, restaurant and bar staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and all were prepared to go that extra mile. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, calm, well-positioned hotel with excellent staff which offers value for money, we would highly recommend Park Inn Yas Island.

Room Tip: We were at the front of the hotel overlooking the Yas Island plaza. Had no issues with noise, even t...

Was staying for a 5 weeks in the Park Inn hotel. The excellent service and readiniss of personnel to help make this place pleasant. But let's start form the beginning.
Brakfast - fantastic, everything you need for breakfast is there. The only missing thing - pork bacon but reason is obvious. Dinner - too samely. It is quite annoying to see the same rice and noodles every day, so after a first week it's stronly recommended to find another place to eat.
Location - 10 minutes drive to airport and couple minutes walk to F1 race, so it's up to you what you need, but forget about sleeping well during weekends - sounds of race will acompany you all night till midnight. Other days ? Only airplanes that're going to land in Abu-Dhabi International. Need go out ? 20-30 minutes by taxi and you are in city. The hotels beach is about 5-7 minutes walk, but it's defenetly not the best beach in Abu-Dhabi.
So in summary - it's not a bad place to stay if you don't need to be in city too often and happy with a 5 bars in the nearest hotels. Excellent service makes the hotel is confortable enough to stay overnight or for business needs, but defenetly not for holidays.
Cheers.

Room Tip: try to grab rooms with a "seaside" ( in fact "golfside" ) - no noise from F1 tra...

My husband and I stayed in this hotel, for a day in March 2013, for a concert in Du Arena. We book the hotel, through booking.com, we booked Business Friendly room with sea view, with 625 aed ++ (750 aed) with a complimentary breakfast + Early check in and late check out. It's non refundable booking. So the night before we checked in, they've already took the money from our credit card. This is unusual, because normally, through booking.com, they will not charge any money until you're checked in. Apparently, according to the receptionist, they haven't charged to the credit card, but "Blocked the room charge" only. That's why I had to sign the credit card slip, when checked in.
The doorman, Mr Amit, was so helpful, and did a very good job. He took care of our luggage, and did the valet too, and gave us a good information about the Du Arena/how to get there, what a multi task.
Details :
1. Do not take the "Business friendly room w/ sea view + breakfast + early check in and late check out" : Nothing special about it, it's just more expensive, because the late check out was not priority, still subject to availability. I got 2 pm check out. The front office lady said, it's fully booked. OK, I accept it. But when we about having breakfast, we saw view people checked out, meaning there were still room available for late check out. Apparently, this is not the case. We still have to check out at 2 pm, we asked for 4 pm, as we had a late checked in (5pm).
The room, it's obviously the same with other room (size, facility, interior), only with balcony facing to the sea n pool.
There is no special thing in this type of room booking. So, booking the Business room, was a mistake.

2. Breakfast : There was no host at the entrance, so you can just come in, and choose your own seat. No staff asked you from which room number you came from. This is not good for the hotel. For a 3 star, the breakfast selection and the taste was good. But ?! it's not easy to get the coffee/tea. It was not just me, but my next table neighbor, experienced the same too, he finally took his own drink from the juice area and then complain to the waiter. And me ? I chased the waiter, for the coffee. I suggest that the restaurant manager to train the staff to be more aware of this kind of thing.

3. The bedroom w/ balcony, was good, not too big (for UAE's hotels), but comfort and clean. There was no slipper, I have to call 0, for this.

4. In the bathroom, the bath gel tube that hang next to the shower stand, was empty. Lucky I brought mine along. The rest ?! was good. I really like the shower head, it's pouring comfortably.

5. Because it's closed to the airport, so you'll hear the noise from the plane, from time to time, it might disturb your sleep.

Generally, I think we had a good experience in this hotel, and we will come back, but we'll never book the disappointing "Business Friendly Room" anymore.

Room Tip: The room with odd number are facing to the pool and sea.
