Facilities all excellent, rooms are huge, just a shame the 'creek' water is not so great and food could be better.

Gold lounge is amazing and I found the breakfast much better up there than down in the restaurant.

We ate in the Italian restaurant once but it was not great, although the show cooking area was interesting to watch.

There's a souk between the Shangri-la and Traders hotels next door and there is a fantastic Indian restaurant there.

Hope this helps,

William

Room Tip: Creekside with amazing view over the Grand Mosque rather than the other more industrial outside

I spent 3 nights at the Bab Al Bahr with Travel Counsellors. Travel agents are the hardest to please, but the Fairmont delivered. I loved the special touches, the gorgeous panoramic views of the grand canal and Sheikh Zayed Mosque, and the friendliness of the staff. 7 restaurants to choose from, all of which were superb. I particularaly loved the Cedar Lounge - Lebanese cuisine with a refreshing twist. The breakfast buffet was something to behold - the most diverse I've ever seen! The concierge service was brilliant - very knowledgable and helpful. I loved every minute of my stay and will happily recommend it to friends, family and clients in future.

Room Tip: King size room with a view of the Canal, definately. Add breakfast - it's well worth it!

From according an early arrival for our small sized party to the well thought out coffee breaks and well appointed meeting room; to the comfort of the room - all went seamlessly according to plan.

The attention to detail was perfect - with special gratitude to the team in the meeting centre, and the kitchen team that created memorable and themed coffee breaks!

Frankies dinner for our group in the private room was incredible. Would highly recomend leaving the menu selection to the team, and be pleasantly surprised with each dish.... amazing experience!

Thank you for allowing us to achieve what we needed to achieve in our meetings - you were largely responsible for the outcome!

The Best holiday ever. The courtesy and friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food, our hotel room; I could go on and on.
From the very first nothing was too much trouble. The housekeeping team were brilliant, we had to turn our 'bell' to 'do not ring', they came so regularly to check if we needed anything. We ate in 'Cuisine' buffet restaurant and the food was superb. We couldn't have had anything better anywhere. Our room had a fantastic view over the beach to the Mosque. We paid a bit extra for this, but it was really worth it, we were on 4th floor. A really lovely room, very spacious and well appointed. The shower was fantastic.
Even on the beach or round the pool we had really good service. Towels are provided for your sunbeds, and they are sorted for you. Ice buckets with water are changed regularly, and on one really hot day, iced face cloths were brought to everyone on the beach and round the pool. The beach is lovely, and the pool also really good.
August at the pool bar was trying new cocktails out, I think it should be called 'Blue August', but be warned they are strong!!
We would definitely like to return here.

Room Tip: Ask for 'view room' as is worth it, and higher floor probably better. We were on 4th floor.
