“Extraordinary architecture”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

visited in August 2013, this is the must place to visit if you are in abudhabi.
the facilities are nice and when i was there the masjid was really crowded with almost walking back to back with other people. finding parking spot can take time too.
i saw lots of European tourists there. if you are a foreigner women then just make sure you wear proper dresses that covers the whole body.

“Stunning in everyway”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

Probably the most impressive place I visited in the UAE, let alone Abu Dhabi. The scale of the place is awesome, the decorative detail is amazing. The staff is friendly and non-believers are made to feel welcome, they do a nice job explaining the rules without making you feel dumb. I spent two hours just wandering around taking pictures. I have to admit I was slightly skeptical before I got there because it is so new and the modern mosques I have been to tend to lack the charm and tradition of the old mosques. But this place of worship will not disappoint. And when you are done the taxi rank is full and ready to take you to your next destination.

“This was UNBELIEVABLE!!!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

There are free tours along with a headset so you can hear the tour guide and offered in other languages. Make sure to be covered up ladies. Your head, shoulders, arms, and legs need to be covered. If you are not, they can lend you an abaya. You will need to take your shoes off when you get inside, but don't worry, it is incredibly clean. This was amazing!! I recommend this to anyone traveling to Abu Dhabi. It was so beautiful. Make sure you go to the bathrooms to see the foot washing stations.

“What a Piece of Architecture!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

Behind every single corner, door, lamb, chandelier, seal, carpet and lighting there is a story. Actually National Geographic made a documentary about it and I advise you watch before you go. Also you can enjoy the audio guide which will pack your fascination with facts and numbers. Every piece of this mosque has a story.

“Sublime and Spectacular”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

We almost didn't fit seeing the Grand Mosque into our travel plans yet after experiencing its grandeur, I am very glad that we did not miss it. There is no charge for admission, yet you must dress appropriately (women cannot wear tight clothing and need to cover head/arms/chest) or be prepared to not be admitted.

The beautiful use of marble, precious stones, glass, gold, and carpets is spectacular without being gaudy. The white domed architecture is lovely and graceful from every angle and striking against the deep blue sky above and the water pools below. The men's and women's ablution rooms are also worth a visit to see still more artistry with natural stone. To see at any time of day is worthwhile, yet I would think at sunset or morning would provide even better picture-taking moments.
