“Very beautiful and clean”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

The Mosque is beautiful from all-round. People are required to dress respectfully. Woman are given the the black robe for free, but be sure to have some kind of ID-card with you.

“Amazing sight!”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Make sure you wake up early for the free walking tour at 10am to avoid the organized tours rush. However I also heard the 5pm "sunset" tour is amazing as well! The thing with the tour is that you get to go to places where a "normal" tourist would not get to see, such as walking outside the ribboned areas with the guide explaining the history and architecture. The guide I had was a female muslim and spoke perfect English, she said she studied in America for a couple of years which would explain it. Even if you don't get a chance to do the walking tour, what I found really neat what when we were outside the guide said: "Touch with your hands the white marble, now touch the green marble" You can feel immediate the difference in temperature.

A must see for anyone and everyone who visits the UAE, recommend going on one of the free guided tours, very informative and friendly tour guides who will tell you a lot of interesting facts about the mosque

“Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - Abu Dhabi”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

Grand Mosque is one of the must visit places in Abu Dhabi. The view on a moonlit night is stunning. The golden minaret and fabulous chandeliers are amazing. If you need a relaxed viewing make it on a Non Friday. The mosque is open only after 4.30 PM on Fridays and generally crowded on fridays. Dress codes are strict – ladies must have covered dress, an Abhaya is available free of charge. No shorts allowed for men. There are no visitor fees. There is a free audio guide available in 11 languages against deposit of valid identity proof. For those driving from outside Abu Dhabi – take a route map or GPS, the sign boards for return to Dubai/Sharjah is not very friendly.
