The Chamas at the Intercon never dissapoints as an amazing dining experience.
The upstairs has a nice lounge bar feel to it with a live band ( not too loud). The downstairs is the dining area with an amazing open kitchen and a large salad bar.
The salad and Soup Bar is self service.
Then you just sit down and wait. They serve different cuts of meat carved at your table. Rib Eye, Chicken, Duck, Turkey, Brazilian Beef Kofta's, Brazilian Beef Steaks Or Pikanya, Rib Eye, Tenderloin, Brazilian Sausages, Lamb Chops, Leg of Lamb and on and on. Its endless.....It has the 'Green - Serve and Red - Break ' system that the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi does.
The service is friendly...and when you are taking a break or when you refuse, the staff look genuinely dissappointed that you cant stuff yourself more. Alongwith the sauces on the table, bowls of black beans in gravy, a bowl of fried bananas and taters, and two other bowls of traditional yummy accompaniements are served.
Every 20 minutes or so, a slice of roasted pineapple is served to clear the palette and settle the stomach to make room for more gorging.
Even when you're done and asking for the bill, they keep asking if you would like more. Having a chat with the girl as I was settling the bill, I noted that I didn't get to try the Duck, to whit she immediately went and got me a serving to try.
All in all Chamas never dissappoints and is worth every dirham.
