“Extremely good quality hotel, great staff and facilities...but pricey”
Reviewed October 28, 2009

The Four Seasons is the latest hotel to be built in Damascus and the overall quality very good. Rooms are extremely clean spacious and well equipped with large en-suite bathrooms. Beds are overly soft for my liking, but staff can arrange harder matresses on request. The Syrian staff are all very helpful and welcoming. The only meals we had were light snacks which were very good. The restaurants are supposed to be excellent - best in Damascus.
The hotel has a well-equipped gym and outdoor pool although the pool area is shaded much of the time and the water cold.
Whilst the hotel is expensive (particularly by Syrian standards) it is worth the price. Finnish PM was staying there during our visit.

Good hotel for DAMASCUS. Clean, well appointed. Bright rooms. 2 problems: *no tea/coffee maker in the rooms, *the rate is expensive. Nevertheless, FOUR SEASONS is the best hotel in DAMASCUS. Excellent breakfast.

This really is a very good hotel. The room was luxurious and bathroom to match. Not too much to complain about. The only issue I had was that on a couple of occasions some waiters were not too efficient. (eg. forgetting orders and it happened more than once) But that is minor. I loved the artwork in the lobby. Its a great way to showcase Syrian artists. They also had great examples of Damascene furniture dotted around too. One issue I had was the price of the tours from the hotel. They really are very high. They did not seem like good value at all and because of this we didnt take a tour. Overall its a great place to stay. Its a 20 to 30 minute walk to the old town or a very short and cheap taxi ride. Its on the opposite side of the road to the museaum also.

I was there in August. I'll be there again in October, and after that in November. Only an idiot would stay anywhere else in Damascus (as long as they can afford it). Great staff, great comfort, great cleanliness, a variety of good places to eat. The only places that come near in the Middle East are a couple of the Rotana chain's better properties. If you're coming to Damascus, stay here. If you can't afford it, sell the children and stay here.

Getting out of dodge from the Israeli's bombing Lebanon. Sorry to have left that way, although landing at the Four Season's was splendid.

After staying many times at the sheraton i was more than pleased that the four seasons has opened.
it's a great hotel, actually one of my favorites around the world, lovely rooms, squeaky clean, an AWSOME bathroom, very very polite and professional staff, nice breakfast, food is fine. but it all come with a price, since the hotel is expensive. if you can afford it stay here.

The hotel is very well located in Damascus but quite an odd looking building. Inside it is very luxurious and the room very well appointed. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. The concierge desk also gave a map and good tips on some sights to see (note the National Museum which is opposite the hotel is closed on Tuesdays as are many other sights). The breakfast was excellent. Did not have time to use the pool. Only downside was the price which detracted from the value for money. It is the top place to stay.
