“What a View at Night!!”
Reviewed December 13, 2011

The short drive up to the top of Mt. Qassioun is fun and the road is very new and wide!! The approach to the top you start to view the beautiful areas to the South of the city of Damascus. Now in the winter time Mt. Herman has a nice topping of snow!!

Once you get to the top there are a long stretch of coffee shops and plenty of places to park and enjoy the view of Damascus. I especially enjoy the sunset as all the mosques are calling for prayer and all have their minaret green lights on.

On the way around the top you then have a great view of the Northern suburbs of Damascus.

A must trip while in Damascus...

“Have a car? with friends or family?dont know what to do? just go there”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

VERY cold in the winter and chilled most of the summer. Too busy during the weekend, syrians from all levels of society go there each once in a while.

restaurants with budgets suitable for everyone are there. tea/coffee/hot chocolate makers walk around looking for costumers you can run into a Polaroid photographer too that will offer to take your picture for a small fee.

There is a train in summer at night for the kids with dressed up cartoon characters and loud music. fun ride try it out.

for a quitter experience go late at night amazing scenery

you can use a cab but they will charge high, you can ask them to come back at a certain time and exchange numbers and pay when you are back home. make sure you know what you are paying before you agree.

“a spiritual experience”
Reviewed July 19, 2010

i went there very early in the morning, it was empty of people, the air was so refreshing, and the view was amazing
just avoid it when it's crowded you don't want the loud music and car fumes to ruin the experience so go either very late at night or very early in the morning

“It is a very beautiful place to go.”
Reviewed May 22, 2010

I think the best that you can do is to buy a shawarma in the city center, go to the top by car and see the amazing view and eat an ABSOLUTELY delicious shawarma (kebab) during the sunset. I did the same a year ago when i was there and it was so exciting! But i agree that there are even more lovely places in Syria.
