“A Must Visit while in Damascus!!”

Al Azem Palace (Palace of As'ad, Pasha al-'Azm)
Ranked #5 of 41 things to do in Damascus
Attraction details
Reviewed December 13, 2011

This is one of the best refurbished old Damascus Homes to visit while in Damascus! The walk to the Azem Palace is well worth it as all routes go via the many souks...

Once inside let your mind travel back to the time it was occupied by the Azem Family. The ceiling works are so nice that you just look and wonder how great it must have been to view this on a daily basis.

This is a must visit while in Damascus!!

it's an old palace open for visitors
it fully demonstrates how wealthy people lived in damascus long time ago
the palace has an amazing yard with a small pond and a fountain, it's nice to sit there under the orange trees
very close to the umayyad moaque
