We spent 4 nights in Beit Al Wali in November 2010 with our three kids. Service is really that of a 4*L or 5* hotel, with a warm hospitality and decent prices.
The recent reconstruction of the house, based on old land registry/cadaster plans, is using a mix of original pieces and duplicated pieces from old Damascus houses: it gave us the impression it had always been there. The second section built looks similar. A third section of the hotel is under construction. It will duplicate the same decoration and make you feel as if in a genuine 18th century house. Our satisfaction is so good that we have no choice but rating 5 for each and every criteria. We will definitely come back in this hotel during our planned visit in April 2011.

I have been 5 times in this hotel the last 4 months. My total staying is over 50 days and I never had any problem. The staff is really friendly and the best thing in this hotel is the cleanness!

Its my No1 choice when I travel to Damascus!

I just recently stayed here for one night and loved it-thought it was the most beautiful of the courtyards of the 3 hotels I stayed at in Syria and it also had the best breakfast buffet. My room was not the lowest price category and not too small, so if you can afford it, go for at least a mid-price room.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our stay in Damascus.
We had a great offer price of 110$/ per room/ per night (due to the low season) for this beautiful 5 star boutique hotel on half board basis.
The decor was stunning and perfect, all staff very friendly and helpful, little details such as the welcome chocolate coated oranges, sheer lace shower curtain with the protective transparent strips, gorgeous open space with fountain and the enormous decorative Syrian style beaded chandelier in the public sitting area...etc, everything was just the way we loved!
Because June was their low season, we hardly saw other tourists and we felt like we had the whole beautiful building to ourselves.
I absolutely recommend at least 1night stay upon your visit to Damascus.

Wonderful, warm, sophisticated, friendly, excellent service, excellent food. My group is still enthusiastic! The staff is great and always helpful and available in everything you need. What do you want more??? A small note about the rooms and bathrooms: they are just a little small. But you feel at home anyway
