A luxury hotel which earned many rewards however it was not as good as it should be.

The hotel lobby is not quite right (design, environment, etc), smoking is allowed in the lobby area and reception counter was hidden behind the wall. Check in process was ok and efficient.

Room is super, mattress is comfortable and there are many type of pillows to select from the list, however, it does not make me feel any different at all. The amenities in the room is quite high standard and high tech, except the plastic kettle with luxury Villeroy & Boch coffee set and the red instant Nescafe coffee. I can't believe this small details was missing in this 5 stars hotel where you could enjoy the gourmet coffee with Nespresso machine at "W" hotel.

The shower Nozzle in the bathroom is so high and hard to reach or adjust anything. The water pressure was so low. The water temperature cannot be controlled. I always get the hot water in my room where my collegue always complain of there was no hot water in his room. On my first day, the tap water from the bath tub, water was brown, and I never ever dare to use that again.

Breakfast buffet food variety is below average. Latte was not included in the buffet. ??
The live station of making different kind of egg dish is always make the food by what the chef like. Why the pepper and salt had to be added even customer had not placed the order. Staff attitude are concerned.

Ozone staffs are excellent and made my stay pleasant. There is no friendly warm welcome environment in the hotel from most of the staffs, you say hi but the response is always the ignorance except the door boy.

What I don't like the most is the promise that never been delivered, why bother to do so when you can't or you won't care what you had offered. Staffs attitude are the most concern and need a lot of attention from the management.

I would rather stay at other hotels where there are many choices in Doha.

I stopped at this hotel with a number of my colleagues during June and July 2012.

This was a very disappointing experience.

During this period the hotel was undergoing some major renovations which meant that some of the facilities were unavailable. for instance the indoor bar (Piano Bar) This was not on the website or mentioned at the time of booking.

Check in was efficient but the amount of money they took as a pre-payment made me gulp ! it was the most money ever taken off my credit card by a hotel anywhere in the world as pre-payment. In fact in the following four hotels I have stayed in have not even been asked for my credit card details at check in, this was an indicator of things to come I am afraid.

The hotel is quite impressive, large with a number of restaurants on the ground floor. The Sushi bar is excellent and the food wonderful, the Italian restaurant was very good with beautiful food and very good staff.

The breakfast buffet food was poor, I am not a fan of buffet food but this was worse than average. The most off putting thing though was the staff who insisted on taking your room number the minute you walked in the place, and they were very insistent, all my colleagues commented about it and all were annoyed about it. This continued every morning even when the staff recognised us and obviously realised we were actual guests !

At the rear of the foyer where the lifts are situated security guards stand, and on a number of occasions we were questioned as to wether we were guests of the hotel as we approached the lifts...again this was rather annoying to us.

There is a bar on on the 11th floor called the "Skyview" bar for obvious reasons as it is outside. Apparently is is named after the famous Skyview club in Beirut as the hotel has a very obvious Lebanese clientele. very obvious !
This bar was the "straw that broke the camels back" for us. Myself and a number (maybe 10) of my colleagues went to this bar one evening. There were people queuing to get in and it was taking some time, passports having to be checked etc etc. When suddenly we were all moved to one side to let a group of six people past who walked in without any checks. VIP's we asked ? No they are staff we were told as we the guests paying large amounts of money for the privilege of staying at this hotel were made to queue !

Yet another example of how this hotel make you feel like some sort of criminal is at check-out. When you tell the staff your room number, as they start preparing the paperwork they pick up the telephone and speak very quietly into it. Then nothing happens (for up to 15 minutes on one occasion) then the telephone rings and you realise they have sent someone to your room to make sure it is in one piece !

All I can say is they must have had some very bad experiences with their "clientele" for them to treat everybody in the same manner.

So in summery - I will never stay at this hotel again. Read the review regarding the Oryx Rotana Doha for a great hotel to stay in.

uI often stay in this hotel and it as got better, they are also listening when you complain and try to react. The pool is quite nice and relaxing and if you like chocolate you will love this hotel. The sky terrace bar is nice to take a drink from however it would be nice if the security men smiled a little more as they look very intimidating.

I stayed at La Cigale a couple of nights and even I had visited the website and seen the pictures, the hotel is even more beautiful!!
The entrance is amazing and there is staff welcoming you all the time!! The rooms have all number of details and an impressive pillow menu. The room are spacious (so many closets!), comfortable and with all the luxurious details: chocolates, toiletries…
The selection of food outlets is so extensive that I decided there was no need to try elsewhere: they have an impressive buffet with a huge range of food types, a romantic Italian restaurant, Mediterranean… as for chilling time the Shisha garden is lovely!! I also enjoyed very much the rooftop bar with amazing view over Doha and all type of cocktails. In my next visit I look forward to go to their nightclub, ladies nights at Madison Piano bar was a blast and this hotel definitely know how to put fun in your stay. To top it all there is an impressive swimming pool & spa with Jacuzzi and steam room.
La Cigale is a luxurious and welcoming hotel and it will definitely be my destination again when travelling to Doha.

On several occasions now I had my night spoiled by inexplicable rules and rude staff in hotel. Staff from one section of the hotel advise you to do one thing only to be very rudely refused assistance by staff from another section of the hotel. Bottom line, even with limited entertainment facilities in Doha, the stress that dealing with the staff there (including management) causes is simply not worth it. Go elsewhere customer service is actually understood.

Went here the other night, we went to go to the bar on the roof top, which looks absolutely amazing! It was just such a shame that when I went I was not able to enter the bar as I am 20yrs old :/ i was told you could drink at the age of 18 here like at home. So sadly and annoyingly I was not able to experience it, I am coming back in November when it am 21 and i hope I can give a 5* rating. I just wanted to write this on here, so other visitors are aware. Looked beautiful of what I saw :(

Lush property with a 5-Start service from all aspects. Have never stayed in the hotel but visited the various rooms for corporate purposes and it is nice, very well furnished with all the requirements of a hotel stay. More a a business stay property as of the location in the heart of the city, would recommend families and couples to opt for a beach style hotel.

This property has some very good restaurants in Italian, sushi and International. Have eaten in all, and they are all very good with a high quality of service and food. This property takes pride in its services and quality. There are two cafes here, where in me you can sit back and smoke a Shisha, or in the other just sit back and chat away, both are very good and again with great quality sweats and coffees available. No fault at all, and cost wise, well it's reasonable for the high quality offered and the fact your in a 5-Star property. Well visited by local residents.

Probably some of the best bars and clubs in this property. Little bit more expensive than some of the other properties, but not by much. Sky view recommended in the cooler months as an outside bar, or shall I say chill out zone that livens up at around midnight, pricey and you must book on the weekends, but a great night out. Piano bar is indoor, and more orientated towards Arabic music, again need to book on the weekends. You will find with both these bars here are minimum charges at the weekend, but such is the normal, and usually not too bad when your out for a night in the place. Finally there is a club called seven, visually it is very nice, crowd is mixed, and generally a good night out, however book if you want a seat or table and do it in advance as ths place does get busy on the weekends. Gents expect to pay a 200 entry to the place, and no issues really on getting in as a group of lads, just arrive a little earlier to get a decent spot at the bar and ensure entrance. DJ is not that great, the other bars have better music options, strange but that's the way it is. You do get a few muppets in this place, but all mouth and that's about all.
