Got so excited on the way from the airport watching newly developed Doha downtown sparkling over the water...and than so dissapointed that i found out the hotel was so far way from it.
Hotel itself is very nice, immpresive lobby, quick check-in, room clean, spacious.
Just the windows very tiny and bathroom very dark.
The 24hrs free Wi-Fi didnt' work very well either and the walls need some more sound proof isolation.
All the staff efficient, helpfull, but not too friendly. Taxi called by hotel is overpriced, but i was bargaining on the way and got "discount" :)
On the roof top is indoor pool and spa which I found extremely usefull after all day work.
Breakfast was great too.
Overall..the only bad point this hotel will get from me is the location. But if you dont' mind to spend hours in very bad Doha traffic...go for it.

I stayed in the millennium hotel, Doha, Qatar, for three nights, on 17-18-19SEP2011
My stay at the hotel was pleasant. I enjoyed the good attitude and friendliness of the staff; they were very polite and ready to help at any time.

The hotel is around fifteen minutes drive from the airport. It is coupled with a small shopping mall, and it is near to major attractions such as souq waqif, the museum of Islamic arts, other attractions such as the animal zoo, Qatar pearl, Qattara beach, villagio shopping mall, and the aspire zone (with the aspire tower) are not far away.

The hotel has good conference facilities and good restaurants. For night lovers, the hotel is not having any night club or bar, so for entertainment, you will have to look for alternatives

Room Tip: I stayed in room 130, which was lacking a good view, try to select a room at higher floors, from the...

I stayed at this hotel during May 2011 with a colleague.

The tone of the stay was set at check-in with both myself and my colleague being genuinely impressed with the staff. This takes some doing as we stay in hotels 10 months out of 12 !

The hotel is modern and was well appointed. The rooms were good and well cleaned.

Facilites were good.

A hotel we will definately use again when in Doha.

Stayed here while waiting for accommodation to be sorted (came to Doha to live). Room was very spacious. Not much of a view from anywhere. Small shopping centre next door.

Breakfast buffet was great - good selection. Staff were very attentive.

Swimming pool is an indoor one which was a disappointment - would have been great if it was outdoors.

The only bad thing is the weak WiFi Internet access. Other than that please check my ratings below.

The Millennium Hotel is located in the busy Al-Sadd area, one of the major arteries of Doha city and only 10 minutes away (at most) from the airport. There are shopping centers around and a number of coffee shops and restaurants, in addition to several international banks.

The room I stayed in was incredibly luxurious and impeccably clean. Every single time I left my room (even for 10 minuets), housekeeping would come in, replace the water bottles (even those only barely touched), replace the towels (even if used only once and neatly hung) and fold my clothes (even jackets laid on chairs!!) In addition, should I happen to be in the room during their rounds, housekeeping would knock to ask if I needed linen, water, towels, etc. to the point where I felt my privacy was constantly invaded and I was being pampered like a rich spoiled brat! This hotel is defnitely for the upper class and not for the working class like me (my stay was covered by my company for the duration of a seminar).

The entire staff I had the pleasure of dealing with were all unconditionally polite, helpful and friendly - all of them, without exception, had great communications skills.

While the breakfast buffet seemed poor in variety and quantity (I couldn't get any milk!), I didn't get the chance to sample the restaurant's food so I have no opinion on the subject.

Personally, I thought the black marble decor and gold finishing were a little bawdy for my taste and gave the hotel a dim atmosphere (although anyone can tell it is all done at huge expenses). A word to the wise: the lobby has an open smoking area.

If you are used to being waited upon all the time and don't mind the expense, this is a great choice for you. If not, stay clear.
