I'd heard great things about this restaurant, and with the W already hosting the fabulous Market by Jean-Georges, was looking forward to trying it out. I left somewhat disappointed. My tuna carpaccio was tasteless and my veal Milanese had been pounded so thin all I could taste was breadcrumbs. The eggplant with tomato sauce was much better, as was the ravioli and tiramisu, but the Americano coffee was watery. The wine list was truly dreadful - a choice of only 3 whites by the glass and 4 reds, one of which was unavailable. We tried two each and the reds were especially poor. Please add a decent Merlot or Shiraz and perhaps a Pinot Grigio to the list. The staff were very friendly, but unorganised - no fewer than 5 staff attended our table during the night, and twice they mixed up the orders, serving my wife's food to me. It's a lovely looking restaurant and has potential, but more staff training, a better wine list and most importantly more consistency in food quality is needed. Doha is crying out for a decent Italian restaurant and this could be it in a few months.
