“Huge choice”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

Friday brunch at the Corniche is a sight to behold. Food stations line a long corridor, comprising Indian, Chinese & Mexican hot and cold selections. The main restaurant has a seafood and sushi bar. A noodle bar and hot and cold desert station are located in the hotel lobby. The food was good, though some dishes could have been hotter. Overall, the quality was pretty good, though the fish was a little dry and overcooked. Most of the clientele were locals and ex-pats, not hotel guests. Booking a table is essential.

“OK Friday Brunch”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

On the plus side, there was a huge choice of food, much of it excellent. Fish and desserts are especially good.
On the minus side, there is absolutely no choice of wine. There is one S African white (acceptable), one S African red (bad), and Spanish cava. And beer. Everything else must be bought separately. Why have thirty different fish and only one white wine?
If you go here you may be better off going for the cheaper no-alcohol option and then buy something better to drink.
Also the food is spread over half the hotel, which can be an issue (only a small one though) when for example the roast beef and the roast potatoes are 100 metres apart!
Service was friendly, if a little laid back sometimes. We enjoyed it but will probably go somewhere else next time with a more flexible drinks policy, eg the four seasons

“Outdoor night brunch”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

We recently went for the outdoor night brunch which overall was pretty good. It's definately for the younger expats with a loud DJ going most of the night. We were seated right near the speakers which made it impossible to speak to any of our fellow diners. So when booking perhaps mention if you'd like to seated near or away form the speakers. The weekend we went was the first weekend after the authorities cracked down on alcohol in public areas after a alcohol related drowning. Another ridiculous knee-jerk reaction from the nanny state who has little faith in it's own citizens on being able to control themselves. Yes rant over, the hotel did well to react given the notice only came in barely 24hrs prior. We were all fenced in, screened in like animals to sheild our wild and crazy antics from the locals. OK rant is really over now. Let's talk food. It's BBQ! Not American BBQ more Australian BBQ, grilled meat, seafood, salads. There was about 5 or so stations, highlights included the real prawns! Yes no jelly pink weird tasting shrimp rings, real king prawns, just like OZ! Crab legs, good seafood salads. etc. Meat on the BBQ looked good. All in all considering the cost a good food offering for a casual Friday night out with friends. Drinks were pretty low quality but hey given the price I guess something has gotta give. It's just the big box wine (goon, goon bag, cask, bag in a box) from QDC. That stuff gives me headaches and tastes dreadful so decided not to drink that night. I can understand why tho, keeps costs low, easy for outdoor events and well most of the crowd was under 30. The guys at the table just stuck to the jugs of beer. I should mention the views are fantastic, great to look over at West Bay, Doha can really be nice in winter outdoors. Toilets were far far away back up at the hotel, if you in heels it can take a while :-) Staff very very friendly and accomodating, well done for adapting to the siuation and not cancelling that weekend like many other venues did. Go again? Yes, I'm a sucker for outdoor BBQ at night, probably get a table away from DJ & dancefloor tho :-)

“Friday Brunch”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

On the positive side this well established Brunch offers a very wide variety of culinary delights to cater for all tastes- Fish, BBQ, Eastern etc.
Deserts too are diverse.
The food service table are very spread out and it is worth spending 5 minutes looking around to understand what is on offer.
Alcoholic Drinks were fine and the waiters were generour enough for our requirement.
In terms of atmospher and overall dining expereince however it is a Lottery. (We have been a number of times recently)
Sitting in the main room (normally the breakfast room) is buzzy and enjoyable. We hoever we seated in an annex room with a maximum of 7 other diners and it was like a Morgue. -even the strolling players from the band who occasionally visited di little to raise or improve the atmosphere.

oiverall- would rush back - there are better dining experiences to be had in Doha for Brunch
