“Comfortable hotel, good value for money, don't count on the service”

If you're in the city for a quick drop in, i would say this hotel does the deed. Rooms are comfortable, and the location is central. The service, however, does not match the star ranking, reception desk never answered the phone to schedule a wake up call, or to book a cab. Their policy is pay full upon arrival as opposed to check out. All in all, i would say good value for money.

I stayed here 1 night on a recent flight from Kathmandu to Manchester but with a 16 hr stopover in Doha. Rather than be in the airport I applied for a visitor visa on arrival and very quickly was granted one - think it cost about £20. It meant I could take a taxi to the hotel and explore the souks for the evening and then sleep in a bed rather than on an uncomfortable chair (at best) in the airport. The hotel was very good, clean and spacious bedroom with a really comfy bed. The location is really good for airport and souks or a walk round the waterfront. I tried to visit the Islamic Arts centre but frustratingly it just closed as I got there - the hotel is 5 mins walk away from there - but crossing busy roads. Anyhow all worked really well and I would recommend this rather than the airport lounges for long stopovers!

The hotel is not what I expected. The rooms are noisy, plumbing is terrible, and the windows are always dirty. We had two rooms and both of them had dirty windows.

Reception is good and service of house keeping and maintenance is also good.

There was a smell in one of the rooms that I could not identify, and it was not a very pleasant smell. You feel it more when you are coming to the room from outside.

We were offered an upgrade, and it was not clear what was the upgrade on the room.

I think it was over rated and over priced compared to hotels with less star. I think the Qatari's stars are given for not deserving.

I recently stayed at this hotel and would have some reservations about recommending it to anyone. It is a new hotel and the furnishing are still good as are the beds. Problems started after we arrived to book in close to midnight. There was only one person on the desk and it was quite busy so we had a long wait to book in. When we were finally shown to our room it did not have the twin beds requested and no key was available until morning. We were eventually shown to another room. The room was what we had requested but still no key. However all we wanted at that stage was a good bed and a good sleep after a long flight. However three hours later we were woken by the call to prayer so that was the end of our nights sleep. As a non muslim I have no right to complain about the culture of a country i visit. However I would suggest that perhaps reception should be practical and ask a guest if they would prefer to be on the side of the hotel where this intrusion would be less noticeable.I did make this suggestion when we left. The other problem is one that this hotel needs to address quite urgently. The showers have been built with virtually nothing to stop water flowing into the whole bathroom. The drain was not coping with the water even though we turned the flow of the shower down very low.It took all our available towels to try and mop up the water before we could use the bathroom.Another thing that was unpleasant was the nail clippings on the carpet in the room. not ours. This is a cleaners nightmare on carpet and i know is not easy to deal with but is also not nice to find in your room. On the plus side the reception staff the next morning were pleasant and helpful. The same can be said of the porters we encountered. The aircon worked well also. Much needed in heat we were not accustomed to. If the hotel can address these issues it would be a good value hotel in a good location in a city where hotels are quite expensive.

Room Tip: If you do not wish to be woken early by the call to prayer ask for a room on other side of hotel. Ho...

This is a new hotel so the rooms are are nice. 4 star quality I would say. The staff are nice and friendly but clueless to be honest. They need training badly.

The worst thing about this hotel was the food. The breakfasts were fine but the main menu was limited to say the least and the food was awful. Whoever the chef is, he has to go as well as whoever hired him! I got stale bread with my dinner every single day I went there even after complaining. The dishes themselves were what you would expect from a cheap cafe.
