We always wanted to try out this restaurant and this is the first time that we had the chance to have a quick dinner here before we went to see the Ballet last week in Katara. We arrived at 7 PM, no reservations and we had a table straightaway in the non smoking area. The restaurant is in Katara Cultural village near the amphitheatre. There is a huge Egyptian bread clay oven like the ones used in ancient times and 2 ladies dressed in Egyptian attire bakes the fresh bread .We ordered, a mixed meat ( chicken shish, lamb kebab, lamb shish and cubes, with freshly sliced salad and fried potato strips . The portion was enough for me and my husband . They served us freshly baked Egyptian bread starlight from the oven. There were about 5 large size bread in the basket. The food is delicious. While we were there, we didn't notice anybody smoking shisha maybe because it was still early. We enjoyed our meal. It's got a nice ambiance inside, the restaurant is designed and decorated like you are in a typical Egyptian cafe/ restaurant. The service is relaxed, you just have to get the waiters attention if you need anything and they're happy to attend to you. Otherwise they just leave you to enjoy your meal. If you like meat this is a good place to try and go early it's cheaper because after 8PM there is a minimum charge of QR 100 per Person. I think our meal only amounted to QR 110 something including coke and water . It's good experience and we'll definitely go back again, it's cheaper than cooking at home.
