“Not that bad...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Perhaps there isn't many places for the local to chill with family or tourist to visit in Qatar, this place will see huge crowds of people late afternoon until night especially over the weekend during mild weather or winter. There's nothing much here except beautiful 'quite' scenic turquoise water over new buildings which will play with lights in the night during special occasions and maybe you want to try the ear-blasting arabian music dhow ride (boat) which will take you more or less 20mins around the waters.

The unfortunately thing about this place is the basic necessity such as public toilets are none to be found unless you walked very far and there's only one. Bad if you have small children around. There's only one misrable cafe for you to get hot or cold drinks or chips, and that is very very far if you're parked right after the fishermen boats area or near to the Islamic museum.

Going with cars you might face problems finding for car park during evening especially weekends unless you're willing to park by the road side and watch out for the fast 'i-don't -give - the heck drivers'.

Advice is -- if you're gonna go there with kids, be prepared.

“nice to walk around”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

i loved this place we would go for a stroll along the corniche during the day or the evening. there are more epople around at night. but this is becuase most families work during the day eat and head out for a stroll so you do see alot of arab/qatari families spending time together. there are joggers and runners on here during the day and night and there are gyms facilities for anyone spread across the corniche. whilst walking you do feel like having an ice cream witht the kids aor some fresh juice or snacks and this place does not have any of it. partly becuase it is near the palace and they want to try maintain a clean chic environment and do not want litter perhaps.
if you go you can take a £4/person ride on the dowe cruise (boats rides) and bring a camera for some nice shots of the the skyline. also bring your own juice or drinks. sit and watch passers by and sunset. next to doha port and islamic art museum.

“Beautiful by day, avoid at night”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

Breathtaking during daylight, with the turquoise waters framing the spectacular towers zone.
At night, the area is choked with traffic, there is no lighting along the main areas and thousands of familes, with nothing else to do jother than ust hang around, lying on the grass verges until the early hours.
Qatar has missed a trick here as so much more could be made of this beautifual attraction. There are insufficient cafes and public facilities. Other modern cities would display markets or craft stalls along the10Km area or maybe add information boards about the old pearling history or modern Doha.

“Nothing more than just an alley between the sea and the highway..”

If you want to take good pictures of downtown Doha, this is the place, but if you visit the Islamic museum, you will get them there anyway. Lacks benches and shades to hide from the sun, which was burning even in the winter… at lunch time many workers from the nearby construction sites were resting there, which is something fine, but the way they were having their lunch was a bit nasty. The really big problem is, that we really good not find a single traffic light to cross the very busy road, so it might be very dangerous, especially at night!! Trust me, no one will stop for you!

The view of Doha's skyscrapers during the night from the Cornish is stunning! Nice place to walk if temperature is in reasonable levels!
