In Doha for 8 hours staying at Al Mirqab Hotel in Souk Wakif.
Was looking for a good place to eat so
Read the reviews for this restaurant and it did not.
Ordered a mix appetiser consisting of Humous, moutabal, baba ganoush and mixed olive salad. For Mains had a mixed grill. This was served with Fresh Naan. Although too much food for 1 person I managed to finish most off it.
There were other items on the menu I wanted to try but maybe next time!
The Ambience clearly added to the whole experience sitting on the first floor and taking in the tranquil atmosphere.
The meal was completed with a complentary dessert from the waiter. This was fried "puris" with a drizzle of sweet syrup.

Wonderful dining experience. Staff answered all our questions about food, since we werent sure what some things were. All meals came with a bread; like pita but bigger. Had kabobs and salads. All tasted very fresh!

A group of us were walking through the souq at the start of the year, trying to decide where to eat. We weren't sure what to expect from an Iraqi restaurant, but we figured we'd try it out. I'm so glad we did! The staff were so lovely - from explaining every single dish on the menu for us, to giving us advice about living in Doha (we had just moved out) and generally chatting to us.
Once we had devoured the mountain of delicious bread, houmous, fattoush, labneh and moutabel, they brought out even more. We were all full before our main course arrived! They also brought us complimentary mint coolers. The main courses were very tasty and very large. Nobody managed to clear their plates, though we wanted to. We decided to sit and talk for a while because we were so full we couldn't move. The staff decided we couldn't leave without trying their desserts so they brought out a custard-based dessert for each of us and a huge plate of doughnut-type things with caramel syrup. None of us thought we could eat another bite, but they tasted so good we couldn't stop! I think we ate enough to last us the week.
We've all been back several times since and never had anything negative to say about it.
