Excellent museum, great architecture and high end displays, highly recomended.

The collections of artefacts is not spectacular, what is impressive is the design of the building, the video of the city and the display cases.

It is certainly a place worth visit if in Doha, especially as there are not many other places one can go to in what is a city with limited entertianmnet and attractions

The museum building itself is a spectacular modern construction on the waterfront. The ground floor at the time of our visit featured a temporary exhibition displaying the jewellery from India which was superb, sadly this finishes mid January 2020. The other two floors which are open to the public feature permanent displays of Islamic art from the 10th century onwards. This is quite an eclectic collection featuring work both from the Middle East and India. Some of the displays are a little repetitive although the quality is beyond dispute and the general setting plus the way the artefacts are illuminated is excellent.
There is also a private viewing platform with great vistas across the bay.
Entry to the museum is QAR 50 for tourists, they accept payment by credit card.

We spend few hours easily in this museum. The exchibitions were well presented and interesting. The cafe was nice and the building it self serves purpose well.
