Well cooked meal with tasty accompaniments, I had the fish kebab with Persian spices, highly recommended. Restaurant has stunning interior, staff efficient and friendly. Menu is also translated into English which is a great help as a newcomer to the country. Two main meals (which came with sides of flatbread, dip and side salad, as well as fries/rice) and a large bottle of water worked out at about £25

A Persian restaurant with fascinating interior. This is an intriguing restaurant on the main thoroughfare of Souq Waqif. The food is OK but not the best available in the Souq but the interior makes up for a lot! You have the choice of eating at tables around the indoor fountain or on carpets with cushions in the alcoves. The staff are friendly and if you ask nicely you may be able to view the private dining room used by the Emir.

This place deserves a full rating for its interior decorations only, recreating the magic of ancient Persia with elaborate wall paintings, mosaic, the biggest tea pot sculpture I`ve seen and that one magnificent room in the back of the restaurant (a must-see!). You can choose to sit at tables or inside booths where you sit on beautiful carpets on the floor (not very comfy but something you have to try at least once). The story is that H.H. The Emir went to this restaurant in Iran, and fell so in love with it that he had an exact replica made in the souq. The food here is also very good (not top rating in itself though); delicious kebabs, stews and freshly baked bread. Top it off with a turkish coffee, and if you`re a fan of rose water, persian style ice cream.
