“Nice hotel but f&b service is poor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Stay was good my only issue was that the service in the lounges and restaurant was very poor. Service was very slow and staff seemed not to pay attention to any of the guests. Everything seemed like a chore when we asked the staff and staff seemed miserable or tired. Always waited for a long time to be served in the main lobby even though plenty of people walking round in suits. Like I said seemed like staff weren't paying attention to their guests. Room was nice and reception staff were efficient, friendly and check in/check out was very fast. Overall a nice stay just improve the service.

Stayed at this hotel for three weeks.
What's meant to be What you would call a business hotel I suppose, if anything.
There is nothing around the hotel, just plonked on the side of a busy road.
Although it is very close to the airport.
No views at all apart from the other building across the road.
Small pool area but only gets sun for around two hours a day due to there being high buildings all around the pool.
In one week (before ramadan had started) the pool was closed for two days due to window cleaning and the day it did open they were still window cleaning so if you was happy to sit around the pool area while getting soaked in soap Suds then it was a lovely experience!
(be aware if your staying here during Ramadan you must be fully clothed to sit by the pool or take a swim which you should respect as your in a muslim country, although other hotels around don't seem to have the same rule)
Theres just a few staff members that are lovely and can't do enough for you. (a few in the restaurant and the cleaner)
The rest are rude and everything seems to be a hassle, you won't find many smiley faces in this hotel!
Only ate in the main restaurant, it's ok. Found everything a little salty.
Had room service most of the time, gets delivered quickly and there seemed to be more atmosphere sat in the comfort of your own room rather than the restaurant.
Typically priced for hotel food, always expect to pay that little extra.
Not a huge selection on the menu.
Breakfast, again it's ok.
The room keys were a pain!
Had to keep getting them registered again as they seemed to stop working, trying to get to your room using the lift when your room key isn't working is a nuisance!
Taxi are available from the front desk, but the green/blue local taxis are a lot cheaper.
You can get one of these by going out to the main road at the front of the hotel.
Rooms are big enough for what is needed, cleaned daily but they need a good clean right through.Very dusty.
Air con is good to have but not when it's circulating Masses of dust around the room.
Only a few television channels in English.
As I said at the start if you can call this hotel anything it would be a business hotel but if you need to use the Internet, it's slow, and disconnects a lot.
Trying to make an outside call was a massive task in its self!
Try calling reception for help, they don't have a clue either, you just get bounced back and forth different departments.
We ended up booking to stay at the grand Hyatt during the weekends as an escape from this hotel.
Where there was a lovely atmosphere, wonderful staff, beautiful pool areas that you can relax by how ever you want.
The weekends were the highlight of the three weeks!
Over all a disappointing stay and counted down the days until we could leave.
Visited many other hotels during the three weeks to see if this was just the standard way of hotels in Doha and thankfully found out that the are plenty of wonderful hotels around that are much more relaxed and located in some beautiful areas.
Would certainly visit Doha again as there are many developments going on that will be good to see in the future but would definitely not stay at this hotel again.

Rooms are clean and comfortable
The amenities in room are fair
Bathroom 3 star
Amenities - Average
Food and beverage - this is their weak point. Did not like south East Asian and Indian preperations. Ordered a biryani in the room. Are about 10 spoons with salt that I added after the dish arrived . Decided however hungry I was, I could not eat the food. The hotel would not acknowledge that they don't know what a biryani is.. I was upset with this attitude. Rest was smooth. Did not feel the "Manja"

When I read the previous reviews, I was worried a little bit about my stay in there, but it seems that the negative feedback regarded the apartments and not the hotel, because of what I experienced, the hotel was great. The room was very clean, and cleaned daily.
The room was huge, well furnished, and the amenities were nice. The lobbies were well furnished too.
Breakfast was nice, and I loved the omelets prepared by the chef.

One thing I did not like in the design of the hotel was that the apartments building is built as a ring around the hotel, so most of the rooms on the first five floors did not have any view. Not important if you spend your whole day outside your room. If not, then I advise you to book a room on the higher floors, or ask for a room with a view.

The hotel is also 15 minute from the airport.

Room Tip: Select a room from eight floor upwards to have a view of the town, otherwise you may only see the ci...

1. The Director Of Sales of this hotel was very rude and arrogant.
2. She never reply to all e-mails.
3. She doesn't know how to deal with the clients.
4. She is not accommodating to hotel guests.

I don't why understand why Holiday Villa hired her as Director of Sales!

This is my worst travel so far in hotel accommodations. I hope the owners of the hotel will look into this matter otherwise, this is not good for hotel reputation.

The food here is simple and nice, although the selection were limited to a handful. Today, they had:

jasmine rice
herb rice
mutton curry
beef curry
chicken curry
beef noodles
oyster mushroom and broccoli mix

seafood chowder soup and minestrone soup (a bit watery; it had a tom yum texture)

salad selection (they had 3 types of salad, and about 5 dressings; including hummus)
a decent selection of dessert and a fruit platter

I had 30% discount because I went with someone who worked there. The tab came to 91 riyals, affordable and as our conversation progressed; I was quite full with the food. The staff service was excellent (they were efficient in cleaning our plates)
