“Luxury hotel”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

The hotel is nice, with pool and beach. You have all the amenities you need and I consider it 5* luxury

We faced few issues, check in took around 2 hrs as the hotel was fully booked and facing too many issues, same applied to check out.

The staff is very nice and helpful; except the security guard at the lobby was very rude disrespectful. His manager was very efficient and handled the situation well.

Special thanks to Malik at reception, very efficient and friendly.

We enjoyed our time at the Dunes lounge, great singer and ambiance, you should visit...

I live in Doha and admit I am a regular at this hotel - both as a guest and at their restaurants.

I looked in last weekend for a night as I had a tough week at work and needed some downtime to chill out. the location away from the CBD, beach and other facilities make it feel like a resort.

As a Gold Passport Platinum member, I was able to checkin at the Grand Club and was pleasantly surprised by being upgraded to a suite. The suite - tow rooms - a sitting room adn work area and the bedroom plus the bathroom were impeccable. My balcony overlooked the gardens and and was very tranquil. I was also pretty impressed to find a bottle of wine and fruit basket int he room with a little note. Very nice touch.

Check in was smooth in spite of it being an early one and the room was ready as per usual.

I booked a massage for late afternoon and the spa, I have to say, is one of the best in Doha. The ladies area is calm and spacious and the therapists well trained and attentive. Worth a look if you are there for the weekend.

The Grand Club was as usual a respite, with Friday being sushi night, my friend, who also booked in for the night, and I enjoyed bubbly and some sushi before having a lovely dinner in The Grill. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and staff even brought us some tapas to try from their Mediterranean outlet Rocca. We felt very pampered. A drink in Dunes with their energetic resident Jazz duo topped off a great stay.

On both days I took a swim in the sea, the water temp was cooler than in previous months and the beach clean and well kept. the only thing missing there is a bar, but the pool nearby has that sorted.

the recent moves to get rid of the noisy and sometimes alarming jet ski riders is still in force and I didn't hear one once during my stay.

With the hotel being so close to The Pearl-Qatar, we opted to have breakfast there instead of the hotel.

A note in restaurants - I was told the hotel is opening a new Arabic restaurant in coming weeks. Work was underway on it and it looks like it will have an outside shisha terrace which will be fantastic.

Being a holiday weekend in neighboring Saudi Arabia, the hotel was full of locals and visitors. also, after the summer, many expatriates took in brunch at the hotel's two main restaurants, again, it was not intrusive and very well managed. The public areas were sometimes busy, but I didn't notice it as such in my room nor did it bother me.

Still a great place to spend a weekend. Can't wait to book back in...

Room Tip: As for a room with a garden view

It a classical business hotel. A little far from the city center but very close to Pearl and Lusail. Rooms are okay. The quality is as you will expect from a regular Hyatt hotel. Executive lounge is very nice. One of the best Spas in Doha

We rented the four bedroom villa which was fairly nice rooms were big and spacious. However, there was many problems ( AC not working and bathroom needs maintenance) and the service not really as a five star hotel.

Upon Check in, we learned that we were upgraded to a big room/ suite. Well, that made the kids very happy cause they have a very big space to run around. Our room had a king size bed, a shower cubicle and a bathtub and 2 seperate toilets, a seperate huge living room area. The room have 2 tv sets(one in the living room and one in the bedroom). The only let down for us was that the lock of the sliding door that seperates the bedroom from the living room was broken.
The bed is very comfortable and fluffy.
The kids loved hanging out the balcony.
The kids loved the pool as well (although the water was a bit too cold for comfort for them, they still managed to enjoy).
Although the buffet breakfast at The Grill during our stay was average in quality. The other restaurants here at this hotel like Rocca and Isaan are really worth visiting.

My wife and I drove from Riyadh to Doha in August this year (during Ramadan) and we were on the whole disappointed with this hotel! The hotel rooms are lovely and the beach is great, however, all apart from one restaurant was closed throughout our stay, the swimming pool is quite small also! The health club was nice but we were on the whole just disappointed with the hotel and wouldn't stay here again and we believe cheaper hotels would offer a better service.

There is absolutely nothing good about this hotel and, in general, it's clientele leave a lot to be desired. The service, and management, is non existent, the restaurants limited, the beach unkept. The only thing I can suggest about positive remarks for this hotel, is that writers and reviewers, have not stayed at the Four Seasons in Doha. Take my advice, I love Doha, but if you are coming here and can afford a few extra Riyals, then stay in the Four Seasons. The Grand Hyatt has nearly put me off Doha for life. I really hope that somebody somewhere takes note of this and does something about the management team here. Awful. If you do have the misfortune to stay here then choose the 5th floor with the club facilities. Whilst not brilliant it does provide an element of exclusivity (if you are lucky) and the girls running the club are very good...shame about the rest of the staff, although the cleaning guys were polite and charming. A final note, a top guy in Rocca's, Franco only saving grace but I am sure he will not be there for long!

Room Tip: Use the 5th floor and club lounge access.
