I've heard many good things about the restaurant at Doha Golf Club and, unfortunately, none of the were realised during today's visit for lunch. Upon arrival we were blanked by the waiting staff so had to ask if we could sit somewhere. They then continued to ignore us, so we went and got our own menus. After waiting unsuccessfully for someone to take our order, we collared a passing waitress who successfully failed to get our order right three times until we finally got through to her. The food turned up in reasonable time, together with our waitress, who just wanted to check that the six of us had only ordered five courses(!). So, while the five of us with food tucked in, my daughter had a ten minute wait for her meal. The food was fairly average, being largely chip based with accompaniments generally taken from the freezer aisle of Carrefour. The concept of a side salad, or even a couple of vegetables in the side, appears lost on this particular restaurant. So, in summary, not at all what we'd been led to believe by other reviewers, atrocious "service", and food so bland I've already forgotten what I had. Best avoided.
