“Nice Place to Visit”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

The corniche is a nice place to spend some time if you want to get a feel for Oman and aren't touring the city in a hurry. Our kids have a great time feeding the birds and we all enjoyed being in the fresh air along the water.

“Nice walkway”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

This is a nice place to spend couple of hours while you are in Muscat. You have a nice pavement to walk with seaport on one side and an old market on the other side. This place is modestly maintained and decorated with granite tiles and garden. The yacht and sometimes cruises are bonus to see. Muttrah souq is just there to hang out.

“Sparkling Corniche”

Take a walk along the Corniche, see the Sultan's yacht in the harbour, the twinkling lights and visit the Souk for a bargain!

“Lively place”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

A nice place for a short walk. We had a wonderful Palmito Salad in a famous seafood restaurant (can't remember the name but you won't miss it, it's huge, with indoor and outdoor setting. The alfresco side has a different menu, but you pick from both). The special thing about the Palmitos is that they were fresh and not canned. Absolutely gorgeous!

“Very pleasant evening stroll along part of the Corniche”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Walk along the corniche and head towards the old Souq. The waterfront walk is interesting mainly for the people watching. In the cool of the evening locals come for walks with their families, friends and most of them are people watching too. Great fun. Children having ice cream treats, others playing around the dolphin statues, adults catching up for chats. "Can I take a photograph of your family please". Never seems to be a problem but I always like to ask first and then in return they ask for a photo of me with their family! Very friendly people. Each time I have been walking along the harbour part of the Corniche I see very few tourists, but this an extremely safe place to be at night. The harbour is where the largest privately owned yacht in the world is moored. Sultan Qaboos's yacht "Al Said" . There are also various local eating places situated here. On the top of a hill near the harbour is an old fort built to protect the entry to the harbour. When you reach the Souq that is another story and review.
