“Again: The best”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

This is my second review about Da Giovanni because i love this place.
Did you wonder which is the best italian restaurant in Beirut?
Did you ever wanted to live the same culinary experience Italy can provide?
Don't search for long, Da Giovanni has it all.

Situated in the downtown area of Beirut, Da Giovanni is an authentic high end italian tratoria.
Everything is prepared to perfection.
We had the Linguini aux Homards, Risotto, thin mi cuit, salde artichaux, and three desserts.
Check out the pictures i have uploaded and you'll understand how mouthwatering they are.

One thing i would wish to change:
- waiters do not speak english and french to the standard of Da Giovanni, not to say very bad.

“Finally... A really good Italian restaurant in Beirut!”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

From the moment we stepped in, the warm welcome and the detailed attention were overwhelming. The service is excellent and leaves no room for complaints.

The setup is beaurtiful, classy and comfortable. The restaurant has two dinner areas with slightly different atmospheres. I recommend you reserve in the inner one, more calm and cosy.

As for the food, I can say it is the best italian I ever had in Lebanon; comparable to great restaurants in Europe. You can smell, taste, and even feel, the high standard of ingredients, preparation and presentation. Wonderful gastronomic experience. The carpaccio, the pasta, the meat... heavenly.
Even the digestive liqueur offered on the house was fantastic.

The wine list is one of the richest and has choices from all over the world, with really accessible prices (starts at 60$). They offer as well good quality wine by glass.

One irritating issue that makes this place less than perfect: The noise. True it is a cultural thing that Lebanese are loud, but the restaurant does not help the atmosphere by setting a round table for 11 in the middle of the dining area.
To avoid this inconvenience, I recommend you either skip Saturdays, or reserve in the inner area.

A must visit place. Expect 70+/person without wine.
