“Nice location and good 'old looking' hotel”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

Been there for just one night.
The hotel is very nice 'old style' art-deco looking. Staff is very friendly.
Room are spacious with extended amenities. Comfort of the beds is average.
Internet (extra) working well. Good selection of TV programs including pay channels (especially sports channels).
Just little bit noisy since the hotel in on the Corniche and if you have a room at lower floors you will ear the traffic (and its Beirut ...!).

Room Tip: Lower floors are little bit noisy because of the traffic.

This was our first trip to Beirut, and Palm Beach turned out to be a good option in the end. We were initially very dissappointed as we tried to go straight to the pool only to find it was closed for renovation. The pool was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel and the fact that it was closed was not communicated to us at all before we arrived! Bear in mind that the weather was perfect, mid 20's, blue skies and we had imagined laying on the roof relaxing, but that was not to be. The hotel eventually agreed to pay for our access to another pool in the Radisson nearby (albeit indoor), but we had to argue a little too hard for it, they should be more prepared and put a notice on their website that the pool and roof bar are not open. Anyway, with that aside the rest of our stay was pleasant - despite being close to a fairly busy road, our room was quiet and had marina views. The marina is brand new and only a 2 minute walk from the hotel, with over 20 bars and restaurants makes it very easy to go out for a nice meal or drinks. We also explored downtown and hamra on foot from the hotel, each about 15 minutes walk away. Breakfast was OK, but exactly the same each day which was dissappointing and only a very small selection of hot items. The only other issue we had was having to pay for valet parking. It seemed very odd that a hotel would charge it's guests to park there! Despite the problems, the location and comfort of the rooms just about made up for it so it still gets 4 stars.

A great art deco hotel, could be Miami, but it's Beirut. Views are a mix of bullet ridden buildings and the blue Med. Rooms are comfy - proper 4 star. Nice lounge and restaurant area, good breakfast, good front desk service. Concierge not the sharpest tack on the board. Taxis always out front. Location is right between the corniche and the new harbor development. Short walk to city center - the mosques, churches, roman ruins, etc., and to AUB/Bliss area. Short cab to bars, rest and clubs in Gemmayzeh, Mikhael and Ashrafiyeh. Get a _18 room number - very big with balacony.

Just spent 4 days at the hotel and was very impressed with not only the room, but also the efficiency and friendliness of all the staff.
I was very pleased with the way i was greeted by by the Bell Captain (didn`t wait for tips). The receptionist was not only efficient and friendly, but very helpful in booking restaurant reservations also helping with Internet boarding reservations on our returns.
The breakfasts were very good (typical buffet style).
I was very happy with all the waiters from the hotel bar and swiming pool bar.
Just wanna say thank you for all stuff of hotel and promise come back

I was in Beirut on business and this hotel was selected by the client, however i was pleased with their choice.

The hotel is art deco style, with a few scuffs around the edges, but nothing to be concerned about. The staff were polite and efficient, and were on hand when needed. Room was sizeable, clean, pretty well equipped, unfortunately no free WIFi or Tea/Coffee making facilites or waters.
Beds pretty comfortable - but have a plastic sheet on matress, for 'bedwetters' which can make it sweaty.
Nice little balcony.
Breakfast, dining room has no atmosphere and an unusual selection for breakfast - suspect low turnover of food.

Still a very good stay.

Would go back.

The hotel is in an ideal location, rooms are good some of them are spacious, rooms are clean , staff are generally friendly but front office staff are not friendly and get irritated with questions and request for help. Its a good hotel if you are on a budget and need a clean and convienent room. However, other hotels could be better in the neighbouhood.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room, its worth the extra money.

I don't know what it is about the palm beach that makes me go back again and again. It certainly isn't its Indian restaurant or its very kitsch lobby... I think what it is is that it simply offers a very good quality/price ratio in Beirut. The location on the Beirut Corniche is one of the highlights, being able to walk out of the hotel's door and be on the seafront is very pleasant. Calls for a lot of morning/afternoon walks. The bustling neighborhood of Hamra is a ten minute walk away. In fact most places are a 10-15 minutes walk away. The rooftop pool is another highlight, the Mediterranean and Beirut at your feet when you are ether doing your laps in the pool or sipping wine at night. Rooms are VERY comfortable with HUGE balconies. if i had to find one shortcoming: The gym gear is falling apart.
