Even with the make over/redecoration the rooms are very small!!
Not to mention the bathrooms are smaller then my car's backseat! But it's clean and tidy.
The room service and hotel staff are great and the location is perfect!
But they should reconsider the prices

Honestly the hotel Alexandre is not such a bad hotel, the room is wide, let's say normally sized. You have a good bathroom, even the shower is or hot or warm depending on the button you will turn, but it is clean, you have shampoo, even toothbrush, air cooler, flat tv. The furniture seems to have been created in the 70s. It is practical, no charm, the restaurant is acceptable but nothing very good, there is no pool, what would have been useful, given the temperature in Beyrouth. And it is located in a very anonymous part of the city, no view, no proximity with shopping, and so on. For me it was not a good choice, but as it was for the business, chosen by the partners, I had to take. Take it ot leave it. If you have the choice, leave it, and go to another place,
Good point, even if we are in the busy center district, it is very quiet and easy to sleep.

Room size is average and well equipped with satellite TV but only 35 channels and 4 not functioning, bathrooms are nice and clean and equipped with hair dryers that are noisy. Breakfast is not included and is basic, al-a-carte is available and expensive for what you get, there are conference rooms for large or small functions and a business centre which is just a small room and 1 computer. They have L'Atrium Piano Bar which is a large room with the Bar in the centre not many tables and chairs and a glass roof, it's kind of dingy and lacks atmosphere and the Piano is in the main lobby. The main lobby area has lots of tables and chairs and lounges and has a nice peaceful feel about it. Be careful when booking a room here, I booked a double room for 2 people and was given a room with a King sized single bed, I complained about it and was shown 2 other rooms the next had 2 King single beds and the other had a double bed which I took. They claim to have a shuttle service to the St Georges Motor Yacht Club and the Airport but this is only a Taxi service and not owned by the Hotel, they don't have a swimming pool but they do have a fountain in the front courtyard, in summary, this is just an average Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask to be shown a room before you sign in and check to see if it's the one you booked first.

The room was clean and tidy, but small, in a quiet location (10 min by cab to the city center). The hotel is in urgent need of renovation! The furniture are old and look really used making it hard to believe that this is a 4-star hotel.

The breakfast costs around $15 and is totally not worth it. The bread and the cake served must be there for age! They only had instant coffee to the buffet. There was no actual variety, really not worth it! There are other coffee places that serve breakfast for half the price which was much better.

There is wi-fi in the hotel but one must buy pre-paid cards, of 1h-5h or a week time. The 5h costs $10.

The personnel although polite, they could not wait by the corner to rip you off! Do not order a cab (TAXI) from the reception it is going to be at least 200% overpriced!

A nice thing for the place is that is within walking distance from ABC mall, where one can have a great choice of restaurants and coffee places.

Room Tip: Try getting a room with front view (there is no rear view)

The location of the hotel is handy for the airport road but not much use for wandering out to see interesting places. The main tourist areas are a taxi ride away. The rooms were a little faded and the breakfast was nothing special to a UK palate, but the rooms were comfortable enough and the place was clean and staff firendly. OK for a short businerss stopover but better to have somewhere with a little more character or nearer the Corniche if you're here for pleasure.

Over priced old run down hotel in a good location. Rude and unhelpful staff. Needs renovating. Uncomfortable rooms and if you are unlucky you may get a room in the height of summer with no air conditioning controllers and have to rely on the front desk staff to turn it on and off for you - but only if they are in the mood. No nice views and for what it is, it is not worth staying there. Can find much better hotels with less attitude in different parts of Beirut. Also, make sure you are not being ripped off if you can book through a travel agent otherwise no one will be honest enough to tell you how much it really costs a night.
