“Stylish, humble, and Tasty”

A lovely evening out in a quiet and cool area of Beirut. Great service, with a wide cocktail menu. A superb range of starters, with the mushrooms, organic salad and calamari all hitting the spot. The caramalised Tartin was to die for at the end of the meal with a ginger tea. First class place, and makes you wish you lived across the road.

“Best Saturday Brunch ... Anywhere !”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

The Eggs Benedict was at par with the best I had in New York. Their spicy steak sandwich is the best I have had anywhere in the world and comes in a heavenly baked English muffin. Their jams are local organic gems and their coffees are the real deal!

I also recommend their Beef Carpaccio which is a sturdy Australian Beef, perfectly marbled. The greens and veggies served are local organic. Their drinks menu is extensive and is provided through a professionally maintained bar serving the latest herb infused drinks in vogue.

An overall great experience.

“Bright and delicious”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Lux is owned by designer Johnny Farah, the man behind Casablanca, one of Beirut's biggest post war culinary success story. Lux shares the same concept: An innovative Mediterranean organic cuisine in a simple and chic venue. Situated across the street from the docks of the port, an area more used to see workmen and porters, Lux was launched a year ago alongside other chic stores including IF (also owned by Johnny Farah), Rabih Keyrouz couture, Karen Chekerdjian and Awan Tea.

Lux offers a nice variety of hot and cold starters including an exceptionally tasty Fish Tagine and other things with vegetables, calamari, or slices of meat. Main dishes include a delicious fish filet daily pasta, etc. For the desserts, Tarte Tatin is definitely a favorite.

There is a lunch formula including starter, main dish, dessert, glass of wine (or other beverage) and coffee for less than 50 USD, a very good deal regarding the quality and the rising rates of food in Beirut. A definitely must try.
