If you can choose only one restaurant in Beirut, go here. You have to have a minimum of two people. You don't order. They just keep bringing mezze after mezze. Everything is delicious. The quantity of food is surreal. The ambience harks back to old Beirut. Service is excellent. Don't come too early or you'll miss the live music.

Em Sherif is a wonderfully overwhelming dining experience. With 33 courses, this meal requires stamina, humour and a large dose of hunger. While we enjoyed nearly every single one of the dishes and certainly all of the desserts, by about the tenth dish in, we were stuffed and tried to convince the friendly and very amused waiters to bring less, to no avail. Well worth it for a full blown Lebanese dining experience but be prepared to eat...A LOT.
