In a great oriental/Tarab setting; Em Sharif offers some of the best Lebanese food in Beirut.

The decor is very authentic and elegant and the waiter uniforms are excellent; it feels like a voyage in time back to 1000 and one Nights (alf layla wa layla). At night, there is a great Tarab band that plays all the best and favorite tarab music in a very nice and discreet manor (not loud at all) and very pleasant.

From the reception, to the service and even while leaving the restaurant, you are treated with grace and much respect.

The restaurant owner herself is always on site supervising everything and making sure that you receive only the best of service and the best of food.

Lunch and dinner are served as a set menu which encompasses everything you could imagine...and MORE! MUCH MUCH MORE! While averaging 50$ lunch-70$ dinner per person, the menu is overly generous, exceptionally original and absolutely delectable! It is a very unique experience.

It is a very impressive venue for corporate VIP lunches, great for family dinners and a great experience for a romantic rendezvous as well.

Everyone that comes to visit us in Lebanon asks in advance that we reserve at Em Sharif.

Note: I highly recommend that you go there very hungry

em sherif became kind of the talk of the town for those who enjoy Lebanese food in a fancy atmosphere. the place is very well designed with a mixture of typical old restaurant look and feel but twisted with modernity. the service is almost flawless from A to Z . every single dish is tasty at em sherif. the quality and freshness of the food are exceptional especially that you get served lots of veggies with raw meat and you can feel the high end quality. the experience at em sherif is unique and tasty. the place is excellent and deserve its high price per person.

This is a must GO in Beirut. Its a mixture of traditional Lebanese atmosphere and excellent excellent Lebanese food.

The restaurant consists of two floors. The lower has a very traditional ambiance with a traditional Lebanese band. The upper floor is a sort of covered terrace. We stayed at the upper floor as we couldn't find a reservation at the lower. (you can still hear the music coming from the lower floor).

The restaurant serves a SET MENU. It was only me and my friend who went for the dinner cession . They have a superb traditional "Mezza". We were stormed with NO-Less than 30 plates of Mezza ( some of them were fish & shrimps), plus the main course which consisted of "Mashawi" (grilled meat and chicken).
The meat was absolutely terrific, it literally melts in your mouth. After the main course comes the dessert: 6 plates of puddings.
And to sum up our dinner, the coffee-man, Bassam, comes to your table to pour the lovely Lebanese coffee.
The service was superb, 3 waiters were hoovering around our table all the time.

Unlike some reviews, I dont agree Em Sherif is expensive compared to other restaurants in Lebanon. The two of us paid $ 137, so it was like $70 each, but the restaurant is exceptional.

Please note that this restaurant needs prior reservation especially if you are going during the weekend nights.
