“Good hotel in Beirut”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

Rooms are good, all having nice view over Beirut, large enough, beds are confortable with good pillows (like in all Hilton hotels). If you stay at top floors the view over the city is excellent (http://mugur-ionescu.ro/beirut-panorama-from-metropolitan-palace.html)

Breakfast is good with good variety of food and fruits.

Pool was not open because of repairs but I could us the pool from the sister hotel which was a bit smaller and crowded.

There is one elevator with glasses and you can se the inside of the hotel. Nice experience

Room Tip: ask fo top floors

Rooms are big, fully equipped and comfortable beds assuring good night sleep. Top floors have nice city view. The trip between lobby and ceiling is beautiful. I think beds and elevator were my 2 favorites in this hotel. You have to pay for the internet though. All in all it’s a good hotel for business travelers.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better view.

I was very happy to see you had a good stay with us and that you were satisfied with our hotel. I will make sure to share your comments with our management team as well as all team members. Very nice hotel, just recently changed to Hilton. Lobby is fascinating with a roof all the way up. In thctop floors you have a view of all of Beirut . Rooms are fully equipped and good size. Food as you would expect all Lebanese food to be great. Had some some renovations ongoing so some disturbing noises...

Room Tip: High floors

I stayed their twice for my official visit. The best thing about this Hotel is that it was 5 min's walk to my work place. Hotel wasn't just the best one i have statyed at ....Gloomy Gloomy look from the inside. breakfast was good and found my native cook who made me good stuff. Rest it was an average Hotel with the amount of money they were taking.

I stayed on two occasions in late April, about three weeks after the hotel joined the Hilton chain. Apart from the name on the top of the hotel there wasn't much evidence of Hilton's influence and staff were still adjusting to the new set up and the administration of Honors gold benefits etc. All the staff I encountered were helpful and welcoming.

My room was spacious and comfortable and I very much appreciated the welcome amenities provided in the room. There was plenty of complimentary bottled water available and the WIFI was reliable and good. Hhonors breakfast was provided in the Candle lounge which was a nice space where service was attentive although food choice was quite limited.

The hotel is located next door to the Hilton Habtour and has easy access to the adjacent shopping mall, some restaurants etc.

If I had negatives I'd point to the small bathroom and flooding shower. Also rooms are a little dated and offer no tea and coffee making facilities or an iron and ironing board. No evening turndown service was provided. Also there was no guest services folder in the room or any written information handed to you at check in which seems like a missed opportunity to sell the hotel's restaurants and facilities to guests.

All in all a perfectly acceptable if unexceptional stay.

Beirut is bustling with construction cranes everywhere and a wonderful 'buzz'. This hotel is closer to the airport than downtown but not in a particularly pedestrian-friendly area. It has been recently rebadged as a 'Hilton'. Main plusses: excellent conference facilities, comfortable rooms/beds, very good breakfast/food services and fitness facilities. 'Le Mall' is next door although it features mostly clothing stores for the 14-25 demographic. Minuses: no pool (it's being repaired), 'lite' WiFi (you have to pay extra for even reasonable high-speed Internet) and I had a problem with a prepaid taxi that failed to show up. Street noise from neighbouring restaurants can be an issue. Take an extra day and take in a tour like Nakhal Tour's Jeita caves/Byblos old town ($90 incl lunch).

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from Olivia restaurant across the street may be quieter.
