We just got back from Beirut and had a great stay at the Mayflower.
The staff were helpful, knowledgable and friendly and all spoke good English.
The location was excellent with lots of shops and bars near by but you did need a taxi if you were going down to the sea/beach.
Breakfast was a standard continental buffet but considering it was included in the price of the room it offered great value for money.
The pool on the roof is small but there were lots of sun loungers and it was a good place to chill for an hour or 2.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony

stayed here a week in early may and many times before
location is spot on in hamra and a short walk to the bars/restaurants nearby
staff friendly and always ready to help
wi fi was excellent in lower part of hotel but struggled on the higher floors but at least it was free
room was comfortable if unspectacular...bathroom was neat and had clearly been refurbished
tv was good with plenty of choice of foreign channel
mini bar was well stocked and fairly priced
the duke of wellington bar is a really nice place for a cold beer at any time of the day and theres always interesting characters in there to have a chat with
overall the mayflower is all you'll really need in beirut..great price/location..and it always comes highly recommended...will certainly stay there again on my next trip

Room Tip: ask for room with balcony

It’s my 2nd visit to Mayflower Hotel; If you are looking for a clean hotel, friendly staff, Free WiFi in room & very good location it’s Mayflower Hotel.

Located on a side street of Hamra main street “2 mins on foot to be in the middle of Hamra St.” where you can find everything you are looking for (Restaurants, Bars, Night Clubs, Coffee shops & Shopping) but you will love Hamra st. because its very live street and you have easy access to most of main areas in Beirut

It’s a 4 star basic hotel and do not look around it’s value for money, I recommend it for anybody looking for standard accommodation with reasonable price in Hamra it’s 100% Mayflower

Will remember it for all the ratings given below but above all it was the kindness of the staff, an old fashioned attentiveness to the customer...they made you feel special and this was right across the staff, no exception (there usually is one!). Spent a week in this hotel...internet free with very good signal. Will go back there next time in Beirut. Thanks Mayflower staff..you are superb! And thanks to Gala Hotels for proposing it!

Since the rooms have been refurbished it has been transformed. Clean comfortable beds but rooms a bit small (as you might expect in a capital city). A great buffet breakfast in the restaurant. Wifi is non-existent at the top of the hotel (but it is great by the reception desk!).

Room Tip: Higher rooms are away from the street noise. At the back of the hotel is quietest, but no views except walls!
