“Great Location”
Reviewed October 8, 2010

I spend three nights in Safir hotel, the location is great, just 20 meters away from the rousheh rock, the staff are very nice and helpful, the morning breakfast is amazing with alot of varities.

i really recommend staying in that hotel, it's 15 minutes walking away from the Hamra street, and 10 minutes by taxi from the Solidaire area.

On a recent trip to Beirut, we were recommended to stay at the Safir Heliopolitan. I might have been expecting too much being as though this hotel is listed as a 5* but this hotel did not quite meet my expectations.
The hotel check in took forever. The receptionist did not seem to know what she was doing and kept asking a college questions. 45 minutes after we got to the hotel we were finally in our room.
The room was nice. It was clean and modern. They did give us two double beds when we asked for a king bed. We did ask to move but after waiting for a response from the reception for over 30 minutes we decided that it was not worth waiting any longer and we settled in. 6 hours later, the reception called and told us that they had another room for us. We decided to pass.
The only complaint I would have is that although the entire hotel suite looked renovated, the bathtub was rusted in multiple places. I hardly wanted to use it even for a shower. You must also keep in mind that Beirut is noisy with many car horns blasting at anytime of the day or night. Bring your earplugs.
We used the room service several times over our 3 day stay and we were really happy with the prompt service. Excellent.
The pool area is OK but nothing great. You can see a sliver of the sea from the pool but really there is not of view of anything but high rises. The pool is very minimalistic and requires some attention.
Again, upon check out, we called and asked for the bill to be ready 15 minutes prior to heading to the desk. The bill was not ready and it took close to 15 minutes more to prepare the bill. We had a ride waiting for us.
The Safir Heliopolitan would be a great hotel if they could fix their reception desk problems as well and upgrading a few small features of the hotel. It is a good hotel for the price in a great location within the city.

Dear Sir,

Greeting from Safir Heliopolitan Hotel,

We would like to thank you for the comments you noted down after your last stay at our Hotel;
we are greatly concerned, and make sure that we will share your remarks with our relevant
associates.

We, our management associates and staff, are always working on delivering the best service in order to maintain high quality standard facilities and certainly satisfy guests’ needs.

Concerning the check in and out issue, we regret the unpleasant situation that was caused. This always happens in high season period only due to a full occupancy for several days
consecutively.

Regarding the bathtub matter, the hotel will start a maintenance action plan during the month of Ramadan.

In order to welcome you again, we will be honored to meet you personally on your next visit to
our hotel.

Please consider our hotel your home away from home.

Thanks to the great staff of Safir. My stay was good, check was quick, good room paritial sea veiw as per the booking, room was ok but towels were old as well as the pellows, the rest of the hotel was great, breakfast is just OK.
It is a bit far from down town, but great location if you are looking for the chorniche, many resturnats and cafes near by only wake distance.
Guest relation was perfect helped in booking tours and advice (unfourtunatly lost her name)
only one problm was when i was coming from the pool, found room service leaving my room, didn't understand why room service would have access to my room and what he was doing inside in my absence ?Duty manager Ahmed acted quickly and was very helpfull , professional as well as the security manager and promissed that not to happen again as they claimed he was regular check ing for fruits.
Dinning in hotel is ok but they don't have pub in hotel so if you do want to relax at night or enjoy party then you need to go out the hotel.
pool was nice and clean but small size, they don't have access to beach, you need to find your own way. overall the hotel is good but it is expensive to the facilities provided.
i would rate it for 4 stars.

I contacted Ms. Inas – revenue & reservation manager - and she was supportive and welcoming regarding doing a reservation without any credit card details as I am not holding one. It was a really great thing that she is providing to her customers. I surprised that they recognized me by my name and kept all my information in there system. The transportation was on time waiting for me at the airport, the check-in procedure was good. Service is impeccable. Rates are reasonable for the area and what you receive. The cheerful staff added their touch to our enjoyable stay. Special thanks for Ms. Sara as she is willing to assist you in everything you need.
The location is very nice as it is close to bay rock and the rocha beach. You can drive to town and get there in 10 minutes. It is really a good and comfortable hotel in many ways. I recommend it to everyone. Only there was a problem with the Air condition but there's lots of compensation. In my opinion is one of the best hotels in Beirut.

I originally booked this hotel through agency where I paid for superior sea view rooms which has been upgraded for free to ececutive room, and when I arrived I discovered that executive room is actually a downgrade not upgrade, because:
1- superior sea view rooms are in higher floor 14-17 where executive are in 12-13 floors
2- superior rooms are slighty bigger than executive rooms
3- eceutive lounge is small area where few chairs there and nothing else even the newspapers are not there it is empty hall !!
4- there is no difference or features for executive floor except the door on the floor entrance !!

the hotel gave me twin bedded room and when I ask for king size bed I have been told for 3 nights it is all fully booked.

the hotel should provide features for executive floor such as seperate check-in area (as they claim in their website) and eqquiped executive lounge as all other hotels do, small touches like free wireless internet for executive rooms or daily news paper are also not exist.

back to location is very good on raouche with raouche rock is around the corner and the hotel doesn't over direct sea view but side sea view since it is not directly on the raouche conriche.

the executive room is Adequate for two persons only with good size balcony, the bed is clean but the carpet has stains and some furnitiure are worn. the bathroom is small and the towels are not the same as some are new and others has stains.

the breakfast is standard and the same every day, nothing special.

the lobby is small and I don't know about other facilities since I didn't try it.

my overall evaluation is that the hotel should be rated as 4 stars not 5 stars as I select it based on some of the good reviews specially about the service but I prefer to stay in a real 5 stars hotel in beirut.
