Does a job. Large, clean.
Gym is excellent though.

Rooms are nice, but the lack of wifi was a concern in a modern hotel.
great location in city centre.

This hotel is excellent in every measurable area. The rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The Lebanese breakfast buffet has a wide assortment of foods for whatever you desire. The workout facility is well above average even for hotels in this class. The only drawback to this hotel is the expense. You can't go wrong choosing this hotel for a stay in Beirut.

The hotel is great, the service is not of a 5 star hotel. From the staff that takes the luggage to the reception desk and the restaurants they need to improve their customer service. The outdoor pool of the hotel was not working and that was never informed to us. I love Beirut and really like this hotel, but they can't only rely on the name.

Overall nice hotel...nice room...clean place...but not too thrilled about the experience:

- Nice location. Had a great run along corniche road in the morning.
- Room was well appointed & clean.
- Service was very slow. Once asked for an iron...30 minutes later and several requests later, convinced a worker to give me one from another room and replenish that room...not sure if it was vacant. Did get an apology from hotel attendant walking by.
- The thing that irked me was that I was put on the lowest floor. So was another non-Arab travelling with me. All of my Arab travelmates put on high floors. Hope this was just coincidence.

Doubt I'd stay here again.

Considering how diabolically expensive this is, even for the region, there is no excuse for such getting so little for paying so much. The room is really small (and, ironically, because of building work going on next to the hotel, the smoking rooms on the upper floors are better than the non-smoking rooms on the lower levels) and has few worthwhile amenities. It certainly feels dated - the TV is the old fashioned cathode ray tube variety, internet access is chargeable at an exhorbitant rate (around $30/day) and the minibar is nothing special. There are no tea/coffee making facilities.

The bathroom was fine - with L'Occitaine en Provence toiletries.

Generally Lebanon isn't cheap, but this hotel just makes things worse; breakfast was average and having a glass of wine in the lobby will set you back around $15;

But worst of all are many of the staff - they appear not to really care; they don't go out of their way to help or assist - the more stars a hotel has, the better trained the staff should be in anticipating the needs of their guests.

It has to be said that the pool/gym/leisure facilities were very nice (although the outdoor pool does close after dusk) and I expect probably better than many other hotels in Beirut. Having said that, there are a number of new hotels coming online in Beirut fairly soon, so expect that position to be challenged soon.

I have no idea what thye see in Beirut or in this hotel. The city has not much to offer. The only thing to see is the nature (whih can not even be compared to Europe) and the clubs (that are full of fakes!)
IC hotel smells and looks like a smoky, dirty chimney. SMoking allowed all over the hotel and people do take advantage of it. SImply unacceptable.
Staff is extremely unfriendly, they just dont care if you are there or you are not.
Waiters seem to be doing favors to you....not one kind or nice look during my stay.

Unambitious, undemanding place, wouldnt recommend for anyone.

I stayed at the hotel 5 years ago in April with my daughter, was very impressed with the room which had a balcony and a city noisy view.
This July, after 5 years , the hotel was packed, hence they did not give a damn about customers.
I booked directly, I have the priority card, where I get an upgrade automatically.
I doubt if I did in Beirut, there could not be a worse room excpet near the bins!
The annoying thing is that I got allocated a room with mouldy bathroom a nd mouldy dirty shower curtains. That really upset me, so i was going to check out, then the reception guy offered me cleaner room.
I reluctantly took it as it was late, the view was horrid, it was of mainly ruins and a building site, a far away city view. the tv was an old small box with hazy unclear images, the bathroom was small. very slippery when u try to g et out of the bath.
The room and hotel facilities were clean.
The food and service in the restaurant was excellent, as well as in the cascade bar/lounge.
The pool [ inside one] was okay and the spa treatment [ massages]were good.
The changing area for women was kept clean and serviced by very pleasant and friendly staff.
the second night the room temperature went so high, I could not sleep, so an engineer came, fiddled with t he thermostat, changed the front of it and left. in the evening, it became so hot, i asked for the temp to be measured, they did not respond. so I wrote a letter to the regional director, the local manager came and an engineer was sent out who fixed the airconditioning unit in the closet and the seiling which was not working. the temp in the room according to their sensor which is not in the room but in their control room, was 23.5C. I felt the room was like a sauna. Also the shower head was leaking, so I had to ask the house keeping unit to sort it out. It is the job of the staff to ensure that every thing is working!!
Any way, later the manager wrote to me, sent me a massage treatment voucher, and the hotel waived off the charge for one night
Tips:
1- check what view u r getting, there are city views without seeing the horrid buildings.
2- check ur bill
3- check the mini bar content when you arrive, perhaps as soon a s u enter the room, as they wld claim that it was complete before u walked in. Do not just count the items, i counted 19 delicacies, still tried to charge me for a choclate bar and a biscuit which did not exist, though the count was still 19!! very bad to try to rip off customers like that, if it was a mistake , how come mistakes are not charged to the hotel.what a rediculous excuse.
4- taxis are very expensive, 15 dollars for any trip within a certain distance, and 25 to the airport.
After all, unless the hotel
sorts it self out, the Four seasons which is due to open, would attract customers, and perhaps some of the experienced staff would also be recruited.
Intercont: You need to respect all customers, maintain ur standard ,do not try to give customers a dirty bath tub.
