A mosque is a place of worship for followers of Islam. The Arabic word masjid literally means a place of prostration. The word "mosque" in English refers to all types of buildings dedicated for Islamic worship.
Located in Martyrs' Square in downtown Beirut, this mosque is new and was built between 2002 and 2007.
The blue-domed mosque has an Ottoman inspiration unfortunately not typically Lebanese copying the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul.
By night the mosque is radius and colourful.
