“At Last some food with Real Flavour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

There appear to be a shortage of restaurants in Beirut with some fire and spice. For visiting Brits used to a decent Indian this is one of only two curry houses worth visiting. Most of the dishes are easily recognisable. Rich, full of flavour and extremely good portions, the rice is enough for two as are most of the side vegetable dishes. Excellent Chicken Tikka and buttered Nan bread and the Madras style chicken was brilliant. Steer clear of some of the more unusual offerings such as cheese and chicken kebabs and you won't go far wrong. Comfortable and air conditioned the service is sharp and friendly.

“'Proper Indian'”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

This was one of those places that you walk into and you are not sure what to expect. The restaurant was empty other than one other table, which in retrospect is a shame because the food is 'Fantastic'. So all I can say to those who walk away due to lack of populous is think again and to all those who have not tried this place, give it a go. The chef is Indian which is a good place to start, the staff a nice and friendly and speak English (which is great of English people as they tend to speak only English). The decor is a bit Indian, in an archetypal English Indian sense, so expect the cliché.

“Very good Indian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

One of the best Indian meals I have had outside India. It doesn't look much, adjacent to a dark side street in the Palm Beach hotel, but it more than makes up for first appearances with the food. A good choice of mains and the paneer (tender and moist) and daal (smokey and full of flavour) were particularly good. A good selection of alcoholic beverages too- including competitively priced local beers and wines. Service could be a bit smarter- they forgot the naan bread initially and eventually brought it after a reminder without an apology but it was so well made that we soon forgave them!

“One of the best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. It can actually compete with Khan's (London). It has kind of a bad service, but the food is so delicious.

“Best Indian cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

If you are an Indian cuisine fan you will certainly be a repeated guest at AL Hindi once you try it; we always order the same exact dishes so won't be able to discuss all meals however Butter chocken, biryani, masala and the spring roles are heavenly delicious. My fav. is the butter chicken and it is a must try along with the Biryani and fresh Naan. Service is honestly getting worse by the day staff are no longer interested in taing care of the guests, not attentive and very unfriendly. Cocktails are never available so you have to stick so soft drinks or wine which is not too bad regardless of this we keep coming back for the food itself and the atmosphere is nice and cozy too
